For many of us, it's a given that New Year's Eve is filled with decadence and debauchery. It would be great, though, too, if it actually benefited somebody besides ourselves. Enter Eclectic Fever, a mammoth party that also raises money for an orphanage school in Uganda, East Africa World Action For Humanity. It's a heavy cause, indeed, but the event is no less extravagant for it, with belly dancers, samba dancers, African drummers, live Afrobeat, Afro-Latin and Reggae bands, and DJs from a staggering number of countries, including Liberia, Brazil, England, Sri-Lanka and India. Let your hangover - not apathy - be the only thing you regret in the morning. Sila and The Afrofunk Experience, headlines the show. Joining them are bands B-Side Players, a latin-influenced Bay Area favorite, and Native Elements, a Philipino reggae collective. Dancers include the popular Non Stop Bhangra Collective, the exotic Sambamora Dance Company, and belly dancer Roz Wood. And to kick off the night are DJ's Jeremiah and the Afrobeat Nation, DragonFly, and Felina
