Old school 70’s soulful funk, disco, world
music, Latin, my parents’ music, little bit of everything.
I
got my first break:
Began playing at small houseparties for my friends.
Spun at the club for a first time at 15, filling in for a drunk DJs.

The Vibe!!!!

favorite thing about the SF scene:
Lack of quality sound systems and almost all parties
are done at 2.
My
favorite SF party is/was:
Old Thursdays at Butter, F Fridays at Cloud 9
and various boat parties.
My
favorite Club to play in is:
Ruby
Skye, Fluid, but by far it’s the open-roof Club Amnesia in Cap
d’Agde, France.
If
I could put together MY dream music festival, the Entertainment would
be:
A mix of oldies, DJs, rock and everything else.
Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Sade, Josh Benson, Bob Sinclar, Antoine
Clamaran, Dj Kayne, Kool and the Gang, Laurent Garnier, Nuyorican Soul,
Police, Jocelyn Brown, Coldplay, Derrick Carter, Danny Tennaglia. With
all these names I would be in paradise!
If I couldn't play records I would probably be a professional:

you want people to know and we didn't ask:
Back
in 2000, during my first visit to SF I had a chance to spin at Butter
and right after that the club offered me a full time residency. Upon
my return Butter’s owner Carlton handed me a stack of flyers for
my new party in which he advertised me as Frenchy Le Freak, his handpicked
moniker. Initially I thought that he forgot to include my name on the
flyer, but later realized that Frenchy is referring to me; the name
stuck ever since. Thanks Carlton!
