This
unique meeting of the techno savvy and socially
conscious will feature speakers, exhibits, art installations,
live music and DJs. The original Human Be-In was
held on January 14, 1967 in Golden Gate Park to
unite the Haight Ashbury hippies and the Berkeley
radicals in protest against the Vietnam War. The
Digital Be-Ins began in the 90s. The aim of the
original Digital Be-Ins were to bring human characteristics
of spirituality and love to the cold, impersonal
Digital Age. Speakers at this year's extravaganza
include Vinit Allen, Kevin Bankston, Swami Beyondananda,
and RAM DASS! Live performers include Alcyone, Bluetech,
and Cybervixen and the roster of DJs includes Dov,
Goz, KJ, Ooah, Phutureprimitive, Rob Rayle, Shakatura,
Space Cowboys and Dr. Spook. With so many issues
to talk about and an impressive list of DJs to hear,
this party will be one part philosophical debate
and one part wild party. What an intriguing combination!
