Our Pix for Indie Film Festival Pt. 1

We have two wildly cinematic weeks ahead of us, San Francisco so here's the lowdown. Besides offering loads of independent films from around the world, the filmfest crew is throwing parties every night. It begins with a sweet Opening Night at DNA, including an awesome Big Lebowski theme party on Sat., Feb. 7 at Serra Bowl in Daly City (dress accordingly!). Now here are a few films you just can't miss: Echelon: The Secret Power If you aren't already paranoid about "big brother" sticking his face in your email account or tapping into your phone line, check out this French documentary. You may walk away feeling informed, entertained, and a just a wee bit violated. Olive or Twist Honor those lovely martinis you spend your weekends with by attending this zestful and wacky movie by a local filmmaker, who's found the history of this sophisticated drink to be shrouded in mystery and controversy. Outpatient is an acclaimed American psychological thriller that strings fiction and fantasy together with dance, hallucinations, and flashbacks. Come see what trying to escape one's own madness may involve. Here is the list of dates, times, venues, and ticket information, or you can pick up a hard copy. They're all over town. (DK)

Miami Update
Airfare prices are on the rise. We got our tickets on American for about $250. That price has now gone up to a whopping $370 but if you are a clever web ninja there are still deals to be found. As far as our NItevibe hotel options THE DEADLINE IS THIS THURSDAY, and we have a only a few rooms left. Grab a hotel quick for a good price in a central location (near the beach and the party action) before you are stuck in nowheresville. Click
here to find out more. Finally, I'm sure you all know about the Dancestar USA electronic music awards which take place each year at WMC. It's the only awards show where the public gets to vote so remember to support our local SF playas like Mark Farina, Kaskade, Behrouz, Spundae, Ruby Skye and XLR8R magazine who are all nominated this year. Congratulations! (JP)

Remembering Dreamteam 2003!
There is only a couple of weeks remaining until the incredible Dreamteam party shakes the walls of Ruby Skye on Wed February 18th - featuring all 10 of your favorite Djs. Tickets will sell out - click
here to get your advance tickets. The party starts at 7pm sharp. Click here for photos from last year's Dreamteam. Does anyone know who those two girls kissing are!? (JP)
