Uber-modern downtown vodka bar Voda is a couple steps ahead of many venues that claim an upscale ‘ultra lounge’ status. While it has a New York feel with its contemporary design, it lacks NYC’s and LA’s “better than thou” pseudo high-class attitude. Creating a perfect bar is a little like creating a perfect vodka martini, a splash of upbeat groovy house combined with a friendly vibe emanating from a polished crowd. DJ Travis brings it all from funk to house. (JM)
