Cover: no cover b4 10pm w/RSVP, $5 presale on RA, $10 otherwise

Eddie C has taken on more than a cult following in our Bay Area enclave. Although famous beyond our shores, the Berlin by way of Canada artist plays constantly the world round, but returns to us just often enough, perhaps due to our adoration. You can see why Eddie is such a frequent player at events like Sunset Campout, his eclectic sound perfectly matches that Belearic-meets-top-rave of that event while remaining consistently quality and consistently evolving. He'll be joined by Koosh, another Canadian and part of Eddie C's crew. As usual, we'll get things grooving in the back with resident and beloved Mike Bee. (ML)

Event: Greg Wilson
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Greg Wilson, Luxxury LA, M3, Anthony Mansfield, Jimmy B, Sharon Buck
Music: house, disco-house, electro-funk
Cover: $20 presale
Greg began DJing in 1975 and is regarded as one of the most important figures on the UK dance scene. He enjoyed hugely popular residencies in the early eighties at Wigan Pier and Manchester's majorly influential Legend. He was a pioneer of mixing in the UK and in 1983 he became the first 'dance music' DJ hired for a regular weekly session at Manchester's now legendary Hacienda club. Greg was instrumental in breaking the new electronic, post-disco records coming out of New York, a sound he has dubbed 'Electro-Funk'. LA-based producer Blake Robin (aka LUXXURY aka Baron von Luxxury) has been making waves in the disco community over the past two years with his controversial LUXXURY edits. This series of dubby, slow disco remixes highlights buried gold in the original multi-tracks of classic songs, making the familiar more exciting by unearthing unexpected treasure - or simply making old classics sound new and fresh. His "Hotel California" edit injected new life into that overplayed classic rock song giving it a sexy, dubbed out beat and transforming Don Henley into a vocoderized robot.

Event: Lights Down Low w/ The Mastermix
Venue: The Great Northern
DJs: Jackmaster, Tiga, Carlos Souffrant, Richie Panic, dPeshMo, Viewfinder
Music: new dance, tech-house, footwork
Cover: $20
The Mastermix tour is a series produced by Glasgowian house superstart Jackmaster in which he brings together a bunch of his top-notch friends to play shows that we're all lucky to be able to rave at. Jackmaster's chosen name is no trick, the man has truly made himself a master of the borderline underground in the UK areas and beyond over the last six years. He's grown from a Scottish delight to a full-fledged Ibiza-playing, number two on the RA top DJ poll, party head that he is today. He brings his own Numbers party around the globe and now he's got this Mastermix series. Tonight he's bringing Tiga to SF, the Canadian whiz-kid whose sounds range from pure house to sythy-electroclash and back. Rounding out the night is a takeover from residents of local collective Techno Clam. (ML)

Event: Stavroz Live
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Stavroz, Hilary Mertaugh, Peter Blick
Music: live world beats & electronic
Cover: $17 presale
Stavroz was formed in 2011 by IJsbrand & Gert, both dj's and sound engineers looking for a way to channel their musical antics. Soon thereafter, Maxim & Pieter joined on live shows and in the studio. Their first EP release "The Ginning" was picked up on international blogs, resulting the highest position on the Hype Machine and was chosen vinyl of the month by the German 'Faze Magazine'. Back home in Belgium, they were awarded second best breakthrough artist, coming in just after Oscar & The Wolf. Known for injecting an overall ethnic, acoustic and organic vibe to electronic music, these four friends pocketed releases for Kindisch, Laut & Luise, Bedrock and their own label 'Moodfamily' in Ghent. Their intimate live set and unique dj sets were quickly picked up, sending them on regular trips abroad. Only to return home for some Fifa and their weekly show on Belgian National alternative radio 'Studio Brussel' where they display an uncanny ability to combine the old with the new and the East with the West.

Event: The Kazbah w/ HOSH
Venue: HOSH, Ali Khalili
DJs: Simon Shackleton
Music: house, tech-house
Cover: $10-20 presale
HOSH German born artist has been busy. As such, with his most recent project he has focused on exactly this symbioses of his production and DJ skills. The result is Stories From Sa Talaia, a free to download double album presented as a DJ mix that is made from all his own new and exclusive beats. This working process has given HOSH the freedom to really explore a wide variety of sound and makes for a two hour opus that finds Holger Behn dipping into many different moods and grooves, all in a coherent fashion and tied together with his own particular style: that style is one that tells one grand story rather than offer brief highlights. It is a style that has taken him to headline gigs all over Europe, Asia, Australia and both Americas in about every major club, including his own party in Ibiza and too many festivals to mention. There, he aims to play sets that, "hypnotize and mesmerize the people and get them lost in sound."

Event: Mystic Bill
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Mystic Bil, MR TC, dAvi A
Music: house, techno, acid house
Cover: $10-15 presale
Bill's move to Chicago in 1988 was crucial in the development of his DJ & Production career. Growing up in Miami, he had been involved in various parts of the music industry, from working at Flamingo Record Pool (run by Bill Kelly of WMC Fame), to playing guitar for the band "Life In Sodom" (80's Synth/Goth Band). His interest in both House & Industrial music inspired him to make his move to the Windy City, and as far as timing, it couldn't have been any better. Bill quickly became involved in the night scene with residency at clubs like Shelter Nightclub, Crobar, & Smart Bar. Bill is a key figure in Chicago's second wave of House & Techno producers. He's considered an big influence by Dj's like Black Madonna, Kink, Axel Boman, & Matrixxman. His styles vary from current Detroit Techno & Chicago Acid, to rare House & Italo Disco tracks. Currently he frequents clubs like Panorama Bar in Berlin, and holds a weekly residency, as well as a monthly in Miami.

Event: Nina Kraviz
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Nina Kraviz, Doubtingthomas Live
Music: techno, tech-house
Cover: $25 presale
Nina Kraviz is a famous Russian dentist. She hung up her drill some time ago to collect records, make music and travel the world. She's releasing her music and that of her fellow travellers on her two labels ???? and GALAXIID. She likes her burger medium rare, her wine red and her tea hot. With a tireless work ethic and a focus on creation rather than infamy, Aurelien Riviere may be one of the best-kept secrets of the European house and techno scene. His rise as DoubtingThomas has been a slow and steady one, with releases on key underground labels and prestigious residencies confirming what those in the know already understand; that this is an artist worth paying attention to.

Event: Oliver Huntemann
Venue: Halcyon
DJs: Oliver Huntemann, D. Santis vs. David Paul
Music: minimal techno
Cover: $5-20 presale
In "Brighter than the sun", the English music theorist Kodwo Eshun depicts the birthplace of Kraftwerk, Dusseldorf, as the "Mississippi Delta of Techno". Huntemann's tracks may well have dragged themselves out of the same primeval soup, but it was the far north which fired them with the necessary steel for clubland. Oliver Huntemann's concrete roots can be traced back to early techno. Had he been any younger, he would undoubtedly have sucked electronica like mother's milk from a C64 chip. Oliver's expertly constructed productions quickly gained him countless admirers within the techno-elite, and it wasn't long before he struck up a devastating partnership with Dubfire. In 2008 the pair released the awesome 'Dios' which was followed last year with the first part of their 'Elements' series: 'Terra' and 'Fuego'. With so much fame on his plate, he has done remarkably well to stay out of the spotlight. That's how it is in the north, actions count, not appearances.
