Nitevibe Buzz

Luminary
San Francisco nightlife is not just about amazing talents from world-class artists and the local vibe from behind the decks and in front of them. San Francisco is about immersive experiences, ones that excite the senses beyond just sound and tingle all five together. It's for this reason that the Midway is teaming up once again, just six months after their last event, with Future Fires to create an all immersive event. The event has music from all over the electronic music map — not only sonically, but also globally. There's sets from Danish indie-electro band and Kompakt label artist WhoMadeWho, IDM/glitch-hop fame-boy Machinedrum, Miami house wizard DJ Three, and of course a roundout from local DJs like As You Like It's Christina Chatfield and Club Lonely's Vin Sol. Because of the sensory nature of the event, this will also feature a full lineup of those on the cutting edge of art and technology, with wearable tech fashions that react to your sight, a gallery-as-organism piece, 3D sculptures made from strobe lights (if that's not club art we truly don't know what is), and a work from the creator of the Insta-famous Color Factory. This collaboration truly highlights the future of clubbing on the various levels of responsive vitality that have so come to represent nightlife as it soars into the future. Join in the journey. Date: Saturday, November 4, Time: 7pm-2am, Place: The Midway, Cover: $50 and up, More Info (ML)

Event: Adriatique
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Adriatique, R. Fentz, Priku, Highkin, Louiv
Music: house, techno
Cover: $20 presale
Both living in Zurich, each regularly performing as DJ's, and both named Adrian S., perhaps it was inevitable that Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer would meet in 2008 and form a near instant friendship. Perhaps it was destiny. But it's the professional bond that followed for which we are so lucky, a bond that would help them ascend the dance music community as the production and DJ duo known as Adriatique. Coming from Romania, Adrian Niculae a.k.a. Priku established himself as a hard working and passionate music creator. He is a member of Sunrise booking since 2007, making his way up to the big gigs through many noticeable Sunwaves performances.

Event: Alter Ego presents Maxi Storrs
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Maxi Storrs, Concret, Shiny Objects
Music: minimal house, techno, electro wave
Cover: $10-15
London based producers Nick Harriman and Alfie Granger-Howell are Dusky, a name that has become instantly synonymous with UK house and techno. If 2011 was the year Dusky marked themselves out as accomplished electronic musicians with their critically acclaimed "Stick By This" LP, then 2012 was the year that Dusky took over the dancefloor and cemented their position at the forefront of the house music underground. Naturally shifting through the full spectrum of house and techno – with strains of their formative garage and d&b influence, Dusky's diverse take on the modern dancefloor was summed up best by their shortlisted contribution to BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix – which joined the dots between jungle legends PFM, the vintage techno of Reese Project and the classic garage of MJ Cole by way of modern innovators such as Huxley, Joy Orbison and Omar S.

'We Are The Night' saw the likes of Guy Gerber, Sasha, and many more. Most notably, he played a major part in the last season of one of Ibiza's best-loved clubs, Space; firstly, playing the closing of its longest-running party, Carl Cox's Revolution, and then proceeding to make history playing the final set at the club's last ever closing party, in an incendiary six hour back to back session with Carl himself.

Event: On&On w/ Satori (live)
Venue: Great Northern
DJs: Satori, Sabo, Benjamin K, Odds & Ends w/ Robothuman, Mantranova Thorough
Music: meditative world beats, bass
Cover: $20 presale
Satori is inspired to capture electronic world music, where he combines endless blends of seductive trance and mind-altering earthy tones. It is not defined by any-one genre. Satori is here to satisfy any meditative music-lover by provoking a spiritual journey through his infinite sound-garden. Satori's sound is more than just a switch on a soundboard; he is the man behind the instrument, creating melodies from the piano, kora, kalimba, and guitar in combination with a deeper form of electronic music. Sabo's productions take you along a journey into sound, a sonic landscape that crosses several musical borders with mixtures of tropical poly-rhythms, warm bass frequencies, rich percussion, lush tribal vocals, and smooth organic textures. On&On will be giving a portion of proceeds to Compute For Cancer. Android and Amazon Kindle People, download the app (beta) and help cure cancer while you sleep.

Event: Skream All Night
Venue: Halcyon
DJs: Skream
Music: dubstep, nu-dubstep
Cover: $10-25
Skream created dubstep. No, really, this guy created dubstep. Maybe it was just the right place at the right time, that is when UK Garage music hit Drum and Bass and 2 Step to create a wholly new robotic sound, but it could have been that then-fifteen-year-old Ollie Jones got to work in the Big Apple Record Store in the Croyden area of London, a store that was on the forefront of the current jungle trends in the UK and was willing to take a chance on an unknown kid. Well, two kids to be precise, as young Skream and Benga teamed up to mess around with a new music software called Fruity Loops. Sometime after this Bassnectar turned into Skrillex turned into EDM and onward. But Skream has kept on producing and maintaining an integrity — one enough so that he's still got a huge enough fanbase to keep him at Halcyon all night tonight. We're sure that a guy who's been hanging out in record stores for the last twenty years has got at least a few good tunes up his sleeves. (ML)

Event: SNBRN
Venue: Mezzanine
DJs: SNBRN, Win & Woo, Towers b2b Hideaway
Music: house, nu disco
Cover: $20-25 presale
Kevin Chapman's introduction to dance music was at age 12 when he stumbled upon music from the likes of Fatboy Slim and Moby. By 2013, Kevin had completed multiple professional degrees in audio engineering and production. Shortly thereafter the vision for the SNBRN brand emerged and Kevin embarked on a new creative path. Recognizing the increasing popularity of deep house, indie dance, and nu disco Kevin envisioned a brand that combined all the best elements of each sub-genre while remaining instantly accessible. The first SNBRN single 'Raindrops feat. Kerli' was released January 20th on Ultra Records. "Raindrops" has already garnered over 14 million plays on Spotify and well over 2 million on SoundCloud. SNBRN's official remix of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" hit #1 on HypeM and quickly climbed into the Top 10 House chart on Beatport.
