All Day I Dream
All Day I Dream is an event that travels the country with its heady sound and heady vibes that deal in melodic and often melancholic-yet-uplifting sounds of its headers. This is, much like Sunset, a summer event, with its entire energy coming from that shimmering of the sun on the Bay, on the vibrant summer green grass, or off the nubile bodies of the events' participants. As the sun sets on the Bay as we enjoy the music of house legend Lee Burridge and friends like Bedouin and Lost Desert (all popular mainstays at Robot Heart out on the Playa), the sun will also set on another great summer spent. Participants are encouraged to come to the event's opening yoga hour, or bring a picnic to enjoy along the grassy harborside mid-event. There might even be some art cars from your favorite event out in the desert. Summer may be ending officially, but we all know that it never really does in the city that we create, together, by the Bay. Date: Saturday, September 30, Time: 1pm-9pm, Place: Middle Harbor Shoreline, Oakland, Cover: $35-40, More Info (ML)

Sunset Island
Like all good things, summer comes to an end, bringing with it the Sunset season closer. Returning to Treasure Island, the closer signifies the end of day parties and fun in the sun, at least for now. It's a bittersweet event, since it's so much damn fun but also a little sad, since we have to go a few long months before the season starts out again. This intimate event features music, vending and food trucks, something a little different from the normal party. Also, since this is in a new spot, check out the Facebook page for a list of what's cool and what's not to bring with you. Throwing down the underground sounds is Dixon, a Berlin DJ who has remained a mystery to the masses though he's been active in the music scene since the 90s. He honed his skills, using residencies to finetune his sets while also introducing foreign DJs to the Berlin scene. Also on deck is A Guy Called Gerald, a no-nonsense DJ hailing from the UK who makes no apologies or compromises when it comes to his sound. Rounding out the lineup are the Sunset residents Solar, Galen and J-Bird, each adding the perfect soundtrack to the day's events. Bring some cash to take advantage of all the wonderful food trucks and artists vending their creations. Date: Sun 10/1, Time: noon- 9pm, Place: Treasure Island, Cover: $25-40 More Info (CQ)

Chillin Productions
Chillin' Productions is back, not just for one night, but for two this coming weekend. On Friday, peruse creations from 60 of your fellow local artists and designers, finding that perfect one-of-a-kind item. Check out the vintage clothing created by Miss Velvet Cream, whose long, ruffly skirts and billowy tops take you back to the Wild West and women in saloons. Dirty Blonde will also be onsite, selling everything from polka dot retro dresses, to long scarves, cropped disco jackets and more. Your DJs for Friday include Elz, Irene Hernandez-Feiks, Carla Lyn and Haute Mess, just to name a few. On Satruday, feast your eyes on work from over 150 Bay Area artists, all together in one art exhibit. Helice Wen, Melanie Alves, Olympia Altimir, and Safi Kolozsvari will all be live painting, so make sure you stop by to see them in progress. Holding down DJ duties will be Asoyolo, Dirtyhertz and No Fare, plus a few of their friends. To find out the full lineup and all the artists and designers slated for each day, get to 111 Minna this Friday and Saturday. Date: Fri & Sat 9/29-9/30, Time: 8pm-2am, Place: 111 Minna Gallery, 111 Minna, Cover: $10-15, More Info (CQ)

The rude boy himself, the one they call Goldie, is taking the stage at 1015. One of the first heavy hitters to come out of the breakbeat jungle movement, Goldie was THE representation of British dance music. From his gold teeth, hip-hop and bboy style to his larger than life personality, Goldie was the beat mafioso Britain never knew it needed. He founded Metalheadz Records, which is home to releases that are a bit harder, darker versions of dnb, and released Timeless, a seminal force in dnb music. Adding support are JAMAL and Method One, with Audio Angel and MC Tell displays their lyrical prowess one time for the bad man Goldie. Event: Abscheid Fräulein: Bubbles' Going Away Party
Venue: SF Eagle
Music: bubbles
Cover: donation
The beloved Bubbles left us earlier this month — and not for Berlin. The human whose pink lipstick, oversized sunnies, and undersized bikini tops was a classic staple of the SF music, alt, queerdo, raver, human scene of San Francisco had planned to move to Berlin at the end of this month to fulfill a long-desired pilgrimage. Unfortunately, due to the radically tragic events that took place late in the Tenderloin two weeks ago took Bubbles from SF and from his dreams of Berlin, a city he had hoped would be filled with music, fun, and most of all, tolerance. We can try to be that for Bubbles, even after death, as we celebrate his life at the party he had planned for his own going away with the DJs that he loved most from this fair city. Stop by and dance for Bubbles. He will never, really, go away. (ML)
