Summertime Vibes
Summer in SF is heating up as we approach Memorial Day weekend, which is perfect since it's a three-day weekend. BBQ's, pool parties and music in the sun are usually on the menu for this holiday, and this weekend is no different. The Phoenix Hotel has all that rolled into one at Summertime Vibes, which serves as the season opener of the poolside day party. Featuring a lineup full of beat-matching heavy hitters, this event is the perfect way to kick of pool party season. First up is DJ Jazzy Jeff. Best known for his work with Will Smith, Jeff has continued working his magic on the 1s and 2s. Known for quality track selection and his turntablists tricks, Jeff amazes with his scratching abilities. That fits in well with the lineup, as the rest features DJ Shortkut from the Invisibl Skratch Piklz and Beat Junkies fame, as well as Teeko and Deejay Theory, with the former performing live. Fran Boogie serves as host, with BBQ and bites provided by Chambers EAT + DRINK. Come early, as capacity is sure to be reached and celebrate the beginning of many pool parties to come. He's released for top labels like Permanent Vacation, Hypercolour, Studio Barnhus, and his own Petter label. All this on top of touring (and, thankfully, coming to SF alot).
