Opel 14th Anniv w/Crystal Method
Opel Productions is bringing an insane headliner to celebrate what is now their 14th turn around the sun. The party crew that believe in partying not just for the sound, but also for the vibe, show the city once again how it's done by bringing in a crew that represents just that: The Crystal Method. They've been called "the best live dance act on earth" and their sound straddles the boundaries of house and electro, breaks and post-apocalyptic cyberdelia. Although they've managed to scale the heights of the music industry — winning Grammy's, soundtracking films and commercials, and making remixes that are distinctly their own — TCM has also maintained a firm hold in the underground and continue to tour worldwide creating a visual and sonic experience that wouldn't feel out of place in a sci-fi film. Like all humans, Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland, the humans that make up the duo, need a break every once in awhile. This will be the last The Crystal Method show before they take a hiatus, so catch them now. And happy birthday to Opel! Thanks for keeping the vibes strong in SF for the last 14 years. Tonight's party will show just that with a patio space featuring 2 silent discos and a bunch of art cars. Enjoy! Date: Saturday, March 5, Time: 9:30pm, Place: Public Works, Cover: $33-35, linkMore Info (ML)

Flyer Of The Week
Our flyer of the week is for The Gathering this Fri at The Factory

Link Of The Week
Burning Moments Part II: This past year was my second Burning Man in a row, and once again my mind was fucking blown. For my video project, I decided to use all of my 2015 photos, as well as some of my 2014 photos, and bring them to life through the experimental technique of digital animation. My photographs illustrate my surreal experiences at the festival, often using my imagination to alter reality. link Here

Event: Tom Trago
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Tom Trago, Job Jobse, Jimmy B
Music: house
Cover: $10-15
Detroit-meets-disco vibe. Vocal hip-house workouts. Garage and late night electro-funk. Sleazy analogue synth wave. Upfront deep house. These are just a few examples used trying to describe DJ and producer Tom Trago's ever growing catalogue. Like a modern day renaissance man, Trago refuses to be bound by the rules of just the one genre but mixes and matches all his influences, into an infectious concoction of mesmerizing grooves. Or as he puts it; "In the end it's just about you developing yourself and not keeping up with the pressure of maintaining some kind of sound. If it's honest music, your signature will always be there." You might call it a hybrid form of house and futuristic boogie but maybe it's better to just define it as the Tom Trago sound.
