Born in a Brooklyn warehouse in 1997, 12-piece ensemble Antibalas is credited with introducing Afrobeat to a wider global audience, influencing countless musicians and developing a live show that is the stuff of legend. The group has performed everywhere from Central Park to Carnegie Hall to Rikers Island Prison, and that's just in New York. On the heels of the hit musical FELA!, which several members collaborated on, Antibalas has reunited with former member and producer Gabe Roth, who was at the helm for their first three albums. Daptone Records released the band's first album in five years, self-titled. Inspired by economic meltdowns and global uprisings, Antibalas piled into two rooms at Daptone's House of Soul Studios in Bushwick, Brooklyn to cut an explosive new set of afrobeat classics. "Dirty Money" launches the propulsive six-song LP with deep, pulsating rhythms, monstrous horns and tight funk. Lead singer Amayo – a native of Lagos, Nigeria and senior Kung Fu master – guides the band through cathartic workouts of call and response, dynamic instrumentals and eruptive solos. Also on the bill is The Jazz Mafia's Subharmonic Date: Fri, Nov 20, Time: 9pm, Place: Mezzanine, Cover: $26-30, link More Info

EndUp's 43rd Birthday
At the ripe old age of 43, you can bet that The EndUp has been partying for what is most likely a lot longer than you or I. And in order to celebrate this bastion of San Francisco all-night delights, two classic Burning Man camps are teaming up to offer a night of disco dancing like what used to grace the walls of the freeway-side club. With a cuddle puddle takeover in the backroom and disco beats going all through the night, you'll feel like you were transported in time to a land that never knew electronic skateboards. All proceeds before 2am go to the two supporting camps so be sure to bring out your dollars to support the local arts and music communities. Musical support will come from local heroes like Jon Barnes, JKIND, Djeska, and more. Date: Saturday, November 21, Time: 8pm-6am, Place: The EndUp, Cover: $10-20, link More Info (ML)

Music: tech-house, deep house
Cover: no cover b4 10pm w/RSVP, $5 early bird tickets on RA, $10 otherwise

This is a big week for the standard Wednesday night party when the master Eddie C is in the house. You may remember Eddie from saving the Saturday night dance floor at this year's Sunset Campout. He has been a longterm collector and DJ, recently stepping out of the woodworks of a ski-life and has come out strong with a move to Berlin and a connection with the electronic music world that has not gone unnoticed. Joining him tonight will be Vinyl Dreams' own Mike Bee. Now you know this man has listened to all the records in that fair store so his stuff has gotta bee (pun intended) good. Give thanks to house this holiday. (ML)

Event: Concept 05: Between Worlds w/ Galen
Venue: Mercer
DJs: Galen, Alex Blackstock, Sui Generis
Music: house
Cover: $8-10 presale

Galen founded Sunset Sound System with the idea of providing free, outdoor picnic-style parties where people could commune and dance while watching the sun set behind the San Francisco skyline. Word spread quickly, and what began as a few friends with speakers and a generator turned into festivities of over 1,000 people within the first year. Today, Sunset Sound System is on the move, boasting big-name talent for their international boat parties, festival-style campouts and famed park gatherings. The early Sunset events served as Galen's creative outlet and a prime platform to perfect his technique. DJing meant extensive knowledge of music history, hard-earned vinyl collections, and truly intuitive mixing. Inspired by the psychedelic climate of the 90's San Francisco music scene Galen successfully grew himself into a household name that he maintains today, holding it down with the world's top talent. His sets are thoughtful, yet never pre-planned, with artfully-timed track selections that spark any dance floor he touches, appealing to the old school just as much as the new.

Event: Joey Anderson
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Joey Anderson, Solar, Mozhgan, Jason Greer
Music: house-ish
Cover: $10-15 presale
Some music is easy to place, and some doesn't sound like it came from any part of the known universe. Anderson's productions are very much the latter. Anderson unquestionably has one of the most distinctive dance sounds - a sort of house music that hardly sounds like house music at all. His first tracks appeared on compilation EPs called Exchange Place, released in 2008 through DJ Qu's Strength Music label. They were notable for sounding even stranger than Qu's own darkly rhythmic house. Over a half-dozen or so EPs in late 2012 and 2013, Anderson sounded increasingly mature without rounding out the rough edges of his earlier work: his sound design has only gotten gooier, and his melodies—played earnestly on piano or flamboyantly on mile-wide synth patches—continue to defy easy logic.

About an hour into the event the music will be stopped and Atish will ask this legend some hard-hitting, everyone-must-know questions. Event: AYLI pres. The Pachanga Boys
Venue: Mighty
DJs: The Pachanga Boys, Mark Slee, Jimmy B, Bells & Whistles, Rich Korach
Music: deep house, microhouse
Cover: $20
As time goes by… we still love the Pachanga Boys. The duo made up of Superpitcher & Rebolledo have made their own label called Hippie Dance which more or less sums up their theme. No, no, it's not psytrance (we'll save that for another night, shall we?), but it is a deep, Playa-tastic, dance in the sun or under twinkling stars for hours kind of sound. Brought to us tonight by As You Like It with residents like Bells & Whistles and Rich Korach (you've probably seen their new pictures somewhere recently), and local favorites Jimmy B and Mark Slee. As usual, As You Like It will pack the house with a hot lineup and their as-always community feel. (ML)

Event: Space Cowboys w/ Marten Hørge
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Marten Hørge, Cptn Jay, DJ Icon, Nugz, Tim The Enchanter, Haute Mess, Josh Damon, 8Ball, Mancub, Kapt'n Kirk, Shissla, ShOOey, Tamo, Zach Moore

Get ready for some pre-Thanksgiving gorging of beats served up by Germany's own Marten Hørger. Marten started his career at the age of 15 and although he wasn't allowed to be in the club legally, he still managed to secure a residency at 'Douala', one of South Germany's most famous underground techno club. Marten first gained international attention when German Elektro originator Westbam labeled him 'the new wonder kid of bass music'. Since then, he's donned the hat of both DJ and producer, releasing a crate-load of music to critical acclaim, with his first ever solo release 'LGFU' earning him Breakspoll Awards for Best Single and Producer of the year.
