In the summer of 2014 his song "Dr. Zapp" topped the Beatport Indie/Nu Disco Top 100 and to this day still remains in the top 50. His desire to keep his music and mind fresh are two reasons for his many aliases, all of which are well known in the music world. Having dabbled as a percussionist in the London School Symphony Orchestra, it was clear that music would always be a part of Just Be's life, and it is. He'll be joined by Bo, who'll add his own musical flair to the evening. Click 'join' on the FB event page for complimentary entry before 11pm. (CQ)

Event: Lee Foss

DJs: Lee Foss
Music: deep house
Cover: no cover b4 11pm w/ RSVP
You can tell Temple nightclub's new persistence on being a new hip-house club with it's bookings of top deep house semi-pop-underground acts like Hot Creation's Lee Foss. Alongside his Hot Natured "band"mate, Foss has been consistently climbing the ranks of the house movement bringing him to the likes of Bestival and Sonar and having his work released on top labels like Wolf + Lamb, No 19, as well as Hot Creations itself. He is famous for both productions and DJ sets and is one of those hardworking house celebrities that keeps his name relevant not only through press and media but through grueling tour schedules, set perfection and great productions to boot. Enjoy the new Temple nightclub that has been revitalized in facade, and perhaps as well in spirit. (ML)

Event: Bedouin
Venue: Audio
DJs: Bedouin, Festiva, Nisa
Music: house, tech-house
Cover: $10
Bedouin is a Brooklyn-based production & DJ partnership between nomads Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe who are creating their own idiosyncratic spell of melodies and rhythms. Together they share an eclectic sonic vision that pulls from diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing, and world travels. Their combined musical backgrounds and ever-evolving taste captures the sensibility of imagination and constantly explores the connection between ourselves and the future.

Event: Lights Down Low featuring Silent Servant
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Silent Servant, DJ CZ
Music: techno, industrial, post-punk, coldwave
Cover: $10-15
Monarch will be hosting an especially edgy edition of Lights Down Low this weekend. Silent Servant, of the now defunct Sandwell District collective, is a purveyor of dark, mean sounds whether they come from today's techno or records from the post-punk of the 80's. Sandwell District, which he comprised along with Regis, Function, and Rrose, was a decidedly techno affair, and a long time pillar of the style at that. Since their breakup, Silent Servant has brought his love for post-punk and coldwave much more to the fore - both in his DJ sets and productions, some of which have recently (2014) featured on Veronica Vasicka's Cititrax, a sublabel of her essential Minimal Wave label. Catch him for an extended set after Chris Zaldua opens things up, a stalwart of the local scene who's taste will no doubt agree wholeheartedly with the headliner. (AO)

Event: Rome On Fire
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Dat Girl, Lupe Fuentes, Michael Simpson, MPHD, Syd Gris, Zapper
Music: house, tech house, techno, tech, electro, trap
Cover: $15 presale, $20 door
LED Dinosaur may be a new Burning Man camp, but it's creators and participants still share the same vision of more established crews. They are dedicated to celebrating dinosaurs and spreading light, which they do by providing others with free LEDs while on the playa. What's not to like? This event is a fundraiser to help ensure the camp makes it onto the playa, and they're enlisting DJs Dat Girl, Lupe Fuentes, Michael Simpson, MPHD, Syd Gris and Zapper's help to make sure that this night is full of banging beats. The theme for the night is Roman Empire, togas and of course, dinosaurs. If you don't have your own toga (or are too lazy to make one) never fear, togas will be sold at the door. If you are unable to attend, consider making a donation so that dinosaurs will once again roam the playa. (CQ)

Event: SET with Eelke Kleijn
Venue: Harlot
DJs: Eelke Kleijn, Pedro Arbulu, J. Remy
Music: progressive house, deep house
Cover: no cover b4 11pm w/ RSVP, otherwise $10-15
Eelke Kleijn is one of those top-tier talents whose work reaches beyond clubs to stadiums to festival floors and even to film soundtracks. His melodic style of house has impressed the likes of Pete Tong (not to mention these worldwide audiences). Sure, the more discerning techno-head might find his music a little cheese, but his songs' life-affirming tunes and buildups have impressed even the stalwart. There is something undeniably understandable in his music and he promises to bring the vibe to Harlot on Saturday that have some calling him a "modern-day composer". (ML)

Event: Werd
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Zoz, Kimmy LeFunk, Woo
Music: house, techno
Cover: $5 b4 11pm
So, you thought all your friends were at Sunset Campout. Well, you thought wrong. At least your friends over at Werd are still in town to bring you one of our favorite varieties of Werd Sundays: Resident's Night. Sure, having international talent is great, but don't we love our locals more than anyone, both personally and musically. Zoz, as always, will wow with his mastery of feel-good dancers, Woo with his moody groove, and Kimmy Le Funk giving us the psych-house. Toss in some surprises and you don't have to feel bad for being in town this weekend. (ML)
