Earth Day Street Fest
If San Francisco is one thing (ok, it is a lot of things) it is Earth conscious. We here in the City by the Bay love the land we walk on and try to do as much as we can to save our one and only planet. While Earth Day is technically only once a year, we spend much of the other 364 days worrying about droughts, climate changes, animal habitats and tree counts. However, since its been decided that April 22 is officially Earth Day, San Francisco is doing one of the other things it does best to celebrate: have a party. The street festival (another of our favorite things) will take place on 22nd Street between Mission and Valencia and will feature a variety of musical acts, ranging from bands like Rupa and the April Fishes to more dance-friendly artists like trance artists Gabriel & Dresden as well as tech-house from Jimmy Bell. In addition, there will be speakers on how best to preserve our Mother Earth as well as some Earth-friendly snacks. If there is a better way to save our planet than party, we're surely not aware of it. Date: Saturday, April 18, Time: 10am-7pm, Place: 22nd Street between Mission and Valencia, Cover: no cover, link More Info (ML)

Eskmo released his self-titled album on the revered Ninja Tune label before starting his own label, Ancestor, on which he released his two most recent albums, including 2015's 'SOL'. His sound is rooted in the base but with synthy squiggles and literal bubbles and pops of sound. His sonic landscape is unlike most other artists today, and makes this show a must-see for anyone interested in the fringes of popular electronic music. (ML)

Music: house, disco, tech-house

The Korean Berliner has a penchant for quick, upbeat sample-heavy house and makes plenty a nod to the funk and soul of yesteryear. He's been gaining steam steadily since his first release in 2009 and now finds himself on créme de la créme labels like Rush Hour, Dekmantel, and Berghain's Ostgut Ton. The rest of the night will be held down by SF's very own Conor and Solar with a B2B set. (AO)

While their choices might sometimes seem esoteric to some, to others the Montreal and Berlin artist, who has released on Wagon Repair, Musiquee Risquee and more is a slam dunk of a booking. It is this kind of small community vibe that DTE will create on Saturday as Deadbeat along with DTE residents Max Gardener and Patrick Gil heat up the decks with some techno for the heads and techno that will get in your head, as well as your body.
