And the night wouldn't be complete without the Hubba Hubba Go-Go Cadets, of course. There's so much more to this event than I can write, so dress to impress and get your booty down to DNA Lounge Friday. Opel Lucky 13
Opel Productions is celebrating 13 years of providing quality music and events this Friday. And how appropriate that their Lucky 13 party is actually on Friday the 13th, so you know this night will be a good one. On such a momentous occasion, Opel is pulling out all the stops and bringing some heavy hitting talent to the decks. First up is London's own, Stanton Warriors. These guys are all about that bass, and you can be sure they'll be bringing all that and more to Mighty. The Stanton Warriors have been known to make your booty shake as the earthquakes because bass. They'll be joined by a bevvy of DJs that include the man behind it all, Syd Gris. No Opel party would be complete without him on the 1s and 2s. Also throwing down will be Dirtybird's Worthy, Billy Casazza and Brian Williams from Opulent Temple, as well as Ricky Switch and R3M bringing those funky, bass-laden beats we love so much. As per usual, The Silent Disco and food trucks will be in full effect, plus some surprises so be sure to get yourself down to Mighty to help celebrate 13 years of Opel Productions. This week's installment features Benjamin K and Rachel Torro teaming up for a headlining tag team set. Him of You're Welcome and Toro of Morning Gloryville are no strangers to raves, attending as both dancer and DJ, full of upbeat fun. Also on deck is Brad Taylor, a veteran of 15 years who's making his Tutu Tuesday debut with some seriously phatty basslines and epic melodies. If you've needed an excuse to don your tutu, here's the best one. (CQ)

Event: Housepitality
Venue: F8
DJs: Alland Byallo, Craig Kuna, Cole
Music: tech-house
Cover: no cover b4 11pm w/ RSVP, otherwise $5, $10 after 11pm

Housepitality is a place to celebrate. A place to meet new friends and to reconnect with old ones. In honor of anniversaries within the Housepitality crew, they've decided to honor other relationships within the San Francisco music scene by taking tonight to honor Alland Byallo, a beloved local artist whose move to Berlin and current gigs at hot spots like Stattbad Wedding and Cookies don't detract from his love for the city in which he grew as a DJ. Some might say Alland single handedly changed the SF music scene with his Kontrol parties and is now a member of SF underground elite for life. Thanks Alland for all you've done and welcome back mate! Enjoy opening set by Craig Kuna and a backroom set by Cole. (ML)

Event: Dam-Funk
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Dam-Funk (all vinyl set), Sweater Funk residents
Music: modern soul, electro-funk
Cover: $13-15 presale, $20 door
Monarch and the Sweater Funk crew have teamed up to bring you a night full of quality funk and soul beats. The 'Ambassador of Boogie Funk,' Dam-Funk himself, is performing an all vinyl set of modern soul and electro-funk. Yes, I said, all vinyl! And if you know anything about Dam-Funk, then you know what a treat this is since he's known for showcasing the raw, obscure tracks, as well as artists you wouldn't normally associate as funky. But that's what makes him so awesome. He'll be joined by the Sweater Funk residents, each throwing down their own blend of soul in support. If you've been craving a little funk in your life, then this party is for you. (CQ)

Event: Goldfish Live
Venue: Mezzanine
DJs: Goldfish(live), NVO, Shouts
Music: poptronica
Cover: $20-25
Goldfish is a live duo from South Africa. Penning a style they call 'organic house', it is an electronic-style sound that is culled from real instruments and live performances by the two artists who started this whole project back in their closet before they were playing stages at Ultra Music Festival, having their work remixed by Fedde La Grande and playing Pacha Ibiza alongside David Guetta. Its been a swift ascent to the top but these two Cape Town natives keep their fresh and light sound that reminds of happy beach times. Catch NVO, a local 3-piece electronica band that shows the talent we have brewing in our very own city. (ML)

Event: Maceo Plex and Shall Ocin
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Maceo Plex, Shall Ocin, Solar, Atish, Hoj, James Fish
Music: tech house, big room
Cover: $15-30
Eric Estornel has been steadily crafting dancefloor cuts for almost 15 years now, but it wasn't until he took on his new alias that this guy really blew up. Ever since the massive success of his first EP as Maceo Plex, Vibe Your Love - a track that sounds like Stevie Wonder playing some sort of future hovercraft party - the Maetrik alias has taken the back seat and Eric has gone on to slay festival after festival and big room after huge room. As the head of Ellum Audio, Maceo Plex maintains a steady output of huge, otherworldly tech-house from the likes of Danny Daze, Maxxi Soundsystem, or tonight's other headliner, Shall Ocin, a relatively new producer of much the same breed as Maceo. Warming up the main floor will be Sunset's Solar, a local favorite, and in the loft will be Atish from Desert Hearts as well as Hoj and James Fish. Needless to say, this party's going to get a bit wild. (AO)

Event: Mark Farina
Venue: Hawthorn
DJs: Mark Farina

Cover: $15

Event: Salted
Date: Sat, March 14th
Miguel Migs, Julius Papp with Lisa Shaw (on the mic), Ruben Mancias, David Harness,
Music: house
$10 presale; $15-20 at door

This time, Salted brought some extra friends to play! Salted is always a solid choice for when you're looking for more classic flavors of house music, vocal-laden and unabashedly uplifting. This time, they're bringing Salted veteran Lisa Shaw back for some more live mic action. David Harness and Ruben Mancias make up the other two special guests tonight. With David coming in hot from the RBMA Radio Honey Soundsystem show and Ruben from New York with another gig lined up at the End Up for the night, there's bound to be a special energy coming from the decks tonight. And of course, Miguel Migs and Julius Papp, your Salted Residents, will be laying it down as usual. (AO)

Event: As You Like It w/ Simian Mobile Disco
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Simian Mobile Disco, Roman Flügel, The Loose Control Band, J.Phlip, DJ Spun, Mossmoss, Bells & Whistles, Conor
Music: house, techno, acid
Cover: $15-30
It looks like Public Works will have a little something for everybody this Saturday when As You Like It presents a bit of an all-star booking with clever picks from both our hometown and afar. The hometown heroes include dirtybird's J.Phlip, The Loose Control Band - a fairly new live set duo consisting of Jonah Sharp (Reagenz with Move D) and DJ Spun - and of course, the very talented As You Like It residents Mossmoss, Conor, and Bells & Whistles. Simian Mobile Disco and Roman Flügel will be doing a B2B set - that's 3 top-notch DJs with more than 40 years of records between them. Simian Mobile Disco has not ceased to put out quality records since they got started 20 years ago, with their most recent Whorl easily making my personal 2014 top 10, and Roman Flügel's name took up about 1/3 of the Facebook newsfeed the day after he absolutely slayed Housepitality in October last year. It's quite a lineup, one that may look incoherent at first glance, but these are top notch DJs - what they do best is adapt, and given the mix here, I think we're in for a pretty special night. (AO)

Event: Heartthrob & Jason Kendig
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Heartthrob, Jason Kendig, Davi A
Music: tech-house
Cover: $15
Combining Berlin-bred talent with SF local hero Jason Kendig does seem like a bit of a no-brainer. And we're glad its coming in for our benefit this Saturday as Heartthrob and Kendig show either of their chops as they create a night of techno and house that is crafted with precision to make your night a great dance. Heartthrob has released on top labels like Ellen Alien's Bpitch Control, Minus, and Hot Creations as well as his own, new, label: ISNISNT. Jason Kendig, for those of you who are out of the loop, is a local SF favorite who has played for AYLI, Rare Form and has represented his home in Honey Soundsystem at Panoramabar and Chicago's Smart Bar. He'll play alongside Kimmy Le Funk, Zoz, Jimmy B and Woo, all of whom have held down the SF scene during Williams' absence.
