Pink Mammoth 11 Year Anniv
Pink Mammoth is without a doubt of one San Francisco's favorite Burning Man theme camps. We like them for their ultra fun-loving spirit, their gay vibes (whether you mean gay as homosexual or happy), and their deluge of events year-round that keep us Playa happy whether we're on a boat, in a sunny street, or a nightclub. Dress up in your party finery before 5pm or you'll miss the boat. Their sound focuses on deep house with high energy and so does the crowd that loves them. On the boat you'll hear the jams of beloved PM residents like Gravity and Marky B as well as some guests like Honey Soundsytems' Jason Kendig (the man obviously never stops), Jimmy B, and Morning Gloryville's Rachel Torro. With such a bevvy of local talent, its no suprise such a great crew comes out to dance on water. After regaining your land legs, head over to Mighty for an afterparty that will keep the vibes going deep into the night. Date: Sat 31st , Time: boarding begins at 3:30 pm, departs at 5pm, afterparty begins at Mighty at 10pm Place: Pier 3, San Francisco, Cover: $75, $25 for afterparty, More Info (ML)

Event: Housepitality
Venue: F8
DJs: Eric Cloutier, Victor Vega, Mike B, Joel Conway
Music: house, techno, dub, disco, funk, chug
Cover: no cover b4 11pm w/ RSVP, otherwise $5, $10 after 11pm

This week, Housepitality brings in Eric Cloutier as he makes a quick trip to North America from Berlin. Eric's been DJing since '96, and is one of those with his reputation earned without producing a record until more recently. Eric came up and has stayed involved mainly through his DJing, has held down residencies from his hometown in Detroit to his current home in Berlin, and now acts as A&R behind Bunker NY (so yea, he has good taste). An understated DJ, Eric moves through his collection of house, techno and dub without too much flash, taking a classic approach that easily gets the bodies moving. SF staples Victor Vega, and in the back, Mike B and Joel Conway, take the decks for the rest of the night, with Mike B and Joel - the Chug Dealers - dealing out the chugs all night long. (AO)

Event: Pumpkin, Luxxury and MoPo
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Pumpkin, Luxxury, MoPo
Music: disco, electropop
Cover: $15 presale
Get to Public Works this Friday to listen to the remixing sounds of the one they call Pumpkin. Keeping things fresh and funky with his electropop and disco remixers, Pumpkin packs dancefloors everywhere he goes. Joining him is Luxxury, a DJ who's the perfect complement with his dubby disco edits of pop tunes. Rounding out the lineup is SunsetSF's own MoPo, whose blend of banging beats will have your booty shake and the earth quake. (CQ)

Event: Rich Medina
Venue: Mighty
DJs: Rich Medina, King Most, Proof, Wonway
Music: funk, house, disco, jazz, soul
Cover: $12-25
Rich Medina is an interesting figure who's went through an Ivy League college, gone on to make six figures at some Fortune 500s, and then decided to quit it all, buy a bunch of records, and DJ the East Coast every weekend. True to his old roots and Jersey and newer ones in NYC and Philly, Rich plays it all. With a ridiculously enviable collection of all kinds of hip-hop, funk, afro-beat, and so much more, it's easy to imagine Medina perfectly at home on a hot rooftop in NYC. Expect to hear an eclectic mix this Friday, (hopefully) spanning decades and genres - given the crowd is ready for all that. (AO)

Event: Tanner Ross
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Tanner Ross, Sharon Buck, dAvi A., Victor Vega
Music: house, nu-disco, disco, r&b
Cover: $10-20
Many of us San Franciscans know Tanner Ross through his dirtybird association, but it appears Tanner's been focusing more on the slower, r&b and disco-inspired offshoots of house music. Look into what he's been up to over the years and you'll see his name next to Soul Clap and Wolf + Lamb quite a bit, with an album due out on the latter sometime in the near future. His latest mixtape, Spring Break City, sees him collaborating with the likes of Nick Monaco, Jules Born, and Aquarius Heaven and delving into his love for 90s r&b inspired grooves.Likewise, Friday at Monarch, you can expect things to be a bit slower than your usual night of house music. Sharon Buck, dAvi A., and Victor Vega hold down support all night. (AO)

Event: Truncate
Venue: Public Works Loft
DJs: Truncate, Patrick Gil, Max Gardner, John Kaberna, Loui Vanhard
Music: techno
Cover: $10-15
Robot Ears is taking the reins on bringing in an SF techno favorite - Truncate - to the Public Works Loft this Friday. The LA techno master has spent many-a great night here behind the decks, playing at 222 Hyde (RIP) and last year's Movement pre-party. The supporter of a raw style of techno that could be befit the Berghain dancefloor also goes along nicely with the style of his staunchest SF supporters, the Direct to Earth crew. As part of this local outfit's continued connection with their Southern brother, DTE will lend out two of their own - Patrick Gil and Max Gardner - for a night of banging sounds and deep machine space as they go back to back with Robot Ears' own residents. Event: Blond:ish
Venue: Public Works
DJs: Blond:ish, Deep Jesus, Matt Hubert
Music: deep house, minimal, tech house
Cover: $12-20
Blond:ish have more than created a name for themselves with their top notch form of sensual and dark house music that sounds like a chic party for underground house heads. Their style has taken them from the top of the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man, the esteemed decks of Berlin's Panoramabar, and invited them to create one of the esteemed Fabric promo mixes. The fact that these two ladies from Canada took a chance encounter at WMC and turned it into a highly successful and gender-norm-defying journey to London and now the world, is a testament to their talent and tenacity. Almost matching their chutzpah is the following of their fans, who love them for their fun-loving approach to playing and their sultry style. See what its' all about tonight at Public Works. Be sure to come early and catch Desert Hearts resident Deep Jesus warm up the decks. (ML)

Event: Eelke Kleijn
Venue: Audio
DJs: Eelke Kleijn, Trey Courney, Pedro Arbulu
Music: progressive house, deep house
Cover:no cover b4 11pm w/ rsvp, otherwise $10-15
Modular Productions continues to deliver some of the world's best DJs on the cusp of deep and modern house to a newly discerning public of the San Francisco Bay Area. Tonight's headliner is crowdpleaser; a Dutch artist from Rotterdam. What Berlin is to deep house and techno, the Netherlands is to progressive. His sounds have gained traction from BBC Radio 1's Pete Tong as well as Fatboy Slim and Loco Dice. In addition to selling records and recording mixes for Vice's THUMP that include samples from the Mockingjay soundtrack (you seriously have to hear it to believe it), Kleijn has been creating soundtracks for films like Wrath of the Titans. How's that for machine music? Come see what he has in store alongside Modular residents tonight at Audio Discotech. (ML)

Event: Justin Jay
Venue: Monarch
DJs: Justin Jay, Sepehr, Pablo Picasso
Music: house, tech-house, dirtybird, techno
Cover: $10-15
Justin Jay is back at Monarch alongside Sepehr once again! Most of the time you'll find him repping the his crew down in LA, but every now and then the young dirtybird makes his way up here to deliver the trademark bass heavy tech-house sound. He caused a bit of a stir back in 2013 with "Static" and has since been sprinkling dirtybird with material here and there. All well and good, but make sure not to miss Sepehr's set. J.Phlip dropped an unreleased cut of his to the obvious delight of the crowd, and something tells me bigger things are in store for the guy, so don't miss out! (AO)
