Robot <3 Distrikt
With a super cast of 21 DJs who have all made their mark in the dust, Robot <3 Distrikt is a full blown celebration of two very remarkable Burning Man experiences. The Distrikt camp is responsible for one of the wildest day parties on the playa and beyond. Robot Heart matches their energy with huge speakers on a converted school bus, taking their renegade party into the deep playa where the big sound can travel freely. This event will run all day through the wee hours of the morning with Erie St. being blocked off for an outdoor day stage. One half of the French electro duo, The Youngsters, with Laurent Garnier, Rodriguez Jr, aka Olivier Mateu, sticks to his roots as a hard-hitting tech-house producer. He uses vintage gear and analog synths to construct his beats, preferring the classic sounds of house and techno originators. The production value on his tracks however, sounds crisp and clean, the obvious touch of a master. There are intricate layers of kicks, snares, hats, and synths, with sharp accents popping out from time to time and then quickly receding into the mix.
