Opel 10 Year Anniversary
Opel has been throwing massive events in the Bay Area for 10 years strong.  Tonight they celebrate their tech funk history with UK giants Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes along with support from Opel residents Syd Gris and Melyss.  Also featured at this large-scale affair is a 'Legends Lounge' on the upper terrace with local guests including Kramer, Ethan Miller, Spesh and Dutch.  Adding to the excitement of the night, Tamo and Silver Lucy present a 'Future Retro' fashion show with selections from their own lines along with designers from several San Francisco talents.  Come before 11pm to catch the catwalk and stay beyond 2am to soak up the hot and heavy dance floor energy. Chinese New Year Parade
For over 5,000 years the Chinese have celebrated Chinese New Year in a two week Spring festival. The San Francisco Chinese New Year originated during the Gold Rush era and is now the largest Asian event in North America. All the festivities of the two weeks culminates in this grand procession down Market Street which will feature the theme of this year's Chinese zodiac sign, The Dragon. Among the myriad of elaborately decorated floats will be the newly crowned Miss Chinatown, Chinese acrobats, and the Golden Dragon which requires 100 people to carry it. 14th SF Indie Fest
For the 14th year in a row, San Francisco's premiere independent film festival launches this Thursday with another jam-packed two week schedule of "an awesome abundance of awesomeness." In addition to the long list of maverick movies to watch, Indie Fest also features a handful of parties including the 9th Annual Big Lebowski Party, a Dance Dance Revolution Throwdown, Love Bites: 80s Power Ballad Sing-a-long, the annual Roller Disco Costume Party, the Skater 26 BAD Girls Benefit Show and After Party, and finally the closing party at Public Works screening a 71 minute dance music video set to the latest Girl Talk album All Day. Grand Opening of S3X Gallery
It's sure to be a night of tantalizing excitement as S3X Gallery unveil their first exhibition of fine art from some of today's most talented and acclaimed provocative artists. This breathtaking collection of paintings, photographs and sculptures illustrates the beauty and the power of sophisticated sensuality.  The night features a live Burlesque performance by The Hot Toddies, vibrant poetry, interactive media installation, and an assortment of aphrodisiacs to nibble and sip. He has also remixed for the likes of Moby and Basement Jaxx so you know this man is on top of his game. Joining him at Public Works is Mad Decent and Major Lazer artist Jillionaire, who's been mashing sounds together for 15 years now.
