ArtPadSF Celebration
ArtPadSF, a new boutique art fair focusing on emerging and contemporary art from the Bay Area and beyond, is hosting its first annual event at the newly revamped Phoenix Hotel. The evening's inspiring array of Bay Area artists and performers features a rather unconventional operatic performance by soprano Diva Marisa Lenhardt, a processional performance by Loyd Family Players, debut work by local composer and musician, EO, SF's live electric cello + vocal looping mavericks LOOP!STATION, dance beats by DJ Jive and Smoove, wearable art and performances by Bad Unkl Sista, Miranda Caroligne, Daphne Ruff, site specific dance performance by Capacitor, and more! Last year he was also invited to produce the Detroit Beatdown RA 277 mix with his Mixmode label partners Mike "Agent X" Clark and Norm Talley. Upstairs Crosstown Rebels' Deniz Kurtel plays jazzy, warped house-infused layers, along with local Re:body resident Briski, Paxahau-turned-AYLI resident Rich Korach, and Kenneth Scott's blissed-out soulful house shuffles. Then in '99 Steve and Gav joined forces in the studio and started racking up several dozen releases and remixes as The Littlemen. Heavily involved in their local scene, the duo doesn't tour to the West Coast as often as we'd like, so check 'em out on this side of the pond while you can. (EB)
