Nitevibe's Halloween Guide
As a place that fully embraces and encourages costumes, it can feel a bit like Halloween in San Francisco all year-round. Putting effort in costumes and throwing amazing parties is what we do here, so it's no surprise that Halloween in SF is probably one of the most elaborate in the country. When the city shut down the infamous Castro Halloween street party, the costumed shenanigans move off the street and into the clubs. There are so many parties and events to choose from, it can be difficult to decide where to go. Let Nitevibe guide the way and breakdown this year's best Halloween parties featuring top local and international DJs. From Ruby Skye's three-day weekend massive to 2nd Sunday's Mark Farina & Miguel Migs double headliner at City Hall, there is something for everyone and every musical taste.

Somali-Canadian poet, rapper, singer/songerwriter, and musician, Knaan is bringing his whirlwind of funk, hip-hop, and powerful lyrics to The Fillmore this weekend. Growing up on the rough streets of Somalia and later immigrating to the United States and Canada, K'naan creates conscious hip-hop with protest lyrics that has an uplifting message and a sound that draws influences from Somali instruments and music, underground American hip-hop, and reggae artists like Bob Marley. In a hip-hop culture where it's hard to get away from "gangsterism," K'nann offers a refreshingly different side to rap that calls for an end to violence and bloodshed.
