Symbiosis Gathering
Symbiosis Gathering is a synaesthesia of art, music, transformational learning, and sustainable living integrated into an unparalleled extravaganza of fun under the Northern California skies. The conscious lifestyle event features headlining bands Les Claypool, Coco Rosie, Os Mutantes, and the Yard Dogs Roadshow plus top electronic acts Amon Tobin, Bassnectar, Freeland LIVE Band, and Shpongle. The Symbiosis experience boasts over one hundred artists that are inherently mind-bending and booty-shaking, and the strategies set in motion by the event have led emagazine to include the gathering in the top 10 US festivals "serious about being green." If you want a little consciousness to balance your party, this is the place. Date: Thur 9/17--Sun 9/21, Time: all day, Place: Camp Mather, Yosemite, CA, Cover: $195 (5 day pass), link More Info (JE)

Sunset Party
Join Solar, Galen, J-Bird, and special guests on the decks outside in the sun, on the grass, by the water, in beautiful Stafford Lake Park in a Fall Equinox (a.k.a. the beginning of summer in San Francisco) celebration. You are probably aware by now of the delightful events that are the Sunset parties, always putting smiles on the faces that show up, and being standouts for the summer. You know when babies are around that this is a far cry from a late night rave--these parties have chill written all over them, even when the music's pumping and everybody's dancing. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sunshine, the good vibes, and the delectable beats. Date: Sun 9/20, Time: 11am-7pm, Place: Stafford Lake Park, Marin County, Cover: no cover, link More Info (JE)

SF Giants Industry Night
The Giants have a shot at winning the Wild Card spot in the playoffs if they can sweep the Colorado Rockies in this three game series. After winning game 1 with the help of Tim Lincecum's stellar pitching, The Giants are hosting the 2nd Entertainment Industry Night to give them a boost of fan support in the stands. Back by popular demand, this event starts with a pregame party in Lot D with an open bar, plus an exclusive, high-quality vintage-style Giants hat will be given out to everyone. Then you'll join the all-industry seating section to cheer the Giants to victory before heading off to the post-game afterparty celebration at The Ambassador. Go Giants! Date: Tue 9/15, Time: 5pm, Place: AT&T Park, Cover: $25, link More Info (EB)

Film Night in the Park
Some things sound too cool for their own good--like when the very popular Film Nights in the Park screens The Dark Knight for its last show in Dolores Park for the season. If you've been to these before, you know to arrive early and be prepared for the onslaught of hipster revelry that always accompanies whatever shenanigans go down in Dolores Park. However, tonight's film choice should encourage a slightly less irony-driven crowd than some past choices like, say, Jaws in 3-D--which means you might actually get to watch the movie, rather than the scene around you. Bonus: watching this chillingly mesmerizing movie under the stars could have you huddling with your neighbors, creating lasting friendships--or maybe more...Date: Sat 9/19, Time: 8pm, Place: Dolores Park, Cover: no cover, link More Info (JE)
