Haight-Ashbury Street Fair
The Haight-Ashbury neighborhood has been a vortex of art, music, and culture for close to half a century starting with the 60's hippie counterculture movement. During the mid-70's, the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair developed with the help of the late San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk to celebrate the residential spirit of the community. With dozens of local vendors, community groups, and two main stages which have hosted such bands as the Jefferson Starship/Airplane, The Tubes, Metallica, and Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience) among others, the HASF provides a groovy afternoon of shopping, food and entertainment for city dwellers and tourists alike. Date: Sun 6/14, Time: 11am-5:30pm, Place: Haight St (Stanyan to Masonic), Cover: no cover, link More Info (EB)

Techno Tribal 10Yr Anniversary
After the first and second days of Harmony Festival, the Techno-Tribal Community Dance will kick off the after party with their 10th Anniversary's bedazzling array of music and dance performances, multimedia extravaganzas, massive laser/light shows, and live painting. As one of the largest Burner-esuqe events on the West Coast, Techno-Tribal pursues a "Burning Man meets Cirque du Soleil" aesthetic to create an epic adventure where there are only participants and no spectators. The producers of the event, The Mystic Beat Lounge, are going big this year to make it the best Techno-Tribal ever in the party's decade-long history. Mystic's Zach Darling says it will be the most "amazing night we’ve ever produced and we intend to exceed [your] wildest imagination. We’ve let our dreams loose this year." Camping is available onsite. Date: Fri 6/12 & Sat 6/13, Time: 8pm-3am, Place: Grace Pavilion, Sonoma County Fairgrounds (1350 Bennett Valley Rd), Cover: $30-40, link More Info (EB)

Singing Flash Mob
Yes, San Francisco's had flash mob pillow fights, zombie attacks, santa parades and more, but it's time we had some music! What: 'With a Little Help from My Friends' (first note Ab, just like the Beatles recording) Why: Because SF needs more communal silliness. No. Really. The City takes itself way too damn seriously. Suggestions: Bring a walkman, mp3 player or something with the Beatles version of the song to listen to. This will help you keep on key if you're concerned about that sort of thing, but you shouldn't be. We promise not to stand up and walk out on you. Bring some friends--you'll get by with some help from them. Date: Thur 6/11, Time: 6pm-6:05pm, Place: Union Square, linkMore Info (WF)
