Maker Faire
As the world's largest Do-It-Yourself (DIY) festival, the 4th Annual Maker Faire and all its geeky glory will attract hundreds of artists, engineers, builders, designers, and craft makers who will show off their latest inspired creations and teach festival goers how they made it. From robots and electric cars to backyard inventions, clever gadgets, interactive art, and much more, the Maker Faire is a breeding ground for technological innovation, creative engineering, and playful science. The Faire's kooky spin on the typical science fair won them the Bohemian's award for "Best Modern Use of Old-Timey Values." Sketch Tuesdays
Each month 111 Minna Gallery hosts an evening of live art making featuring both established and emerging Bay Area artists. This event offers patrons the opportunity to see local artists at work and get acquainted with them. It is also a way for artists to meet each other and to be inspired by each other's creative process. Sketch Tuesdays is a place to congregate, to talk, to create and to be seen. There is usually room for artists to just drop in and start drawing, but the good seats are reserved for the invited artists. Funk n' Trunk
The re-launch of Funk n' Trunk is going to heat up San Francisco's summer with 20 of the hottest local and independent designers showcasing their trendsetting fashions and accessories for men and women.
