Coachella Music & Arts Festival
The other festival in the desert, Coachella, boasts another impressive 3-day lineup for their 10th Anniversary. To keep the festival fresh and diverse, artists rarely play more than once. Mixing stars from past with hot new acts of today, Coachella continues its reputation of being one of the most respected music festivals in America. Pyramind has been an underground SF institution in music production training for almost a decade, but on Saturday afternoon April 18, from 11AM - 3PM, they're coming out of the underground and holding their first ever Open House. If you're looking to learn to produce the pro-level tracks, this is THE spot. There are Pro Tools HD studios, iMac labs with Ableton, Logic, and Reason, and a team of talented instructors who are musicians themselves. It's also a working videogame audio studio, doing music and sound effects for Triple-A games. So students get experience in an working studio environment. Shadow Circus
San Francisco's most belligerent puppetry troupe hosts two full nights of "sex, drugs and puppet shows" for their first vaudeville event in the Bay Area in over a year. If you love music, magic, and monsters, then come witness the utterly fantastic and hilarious world of the Shadow Circus. The nine-year old group uses mythology, folklore, and Lovecraftian monsters to create pop culture parodies with outrageous puppetry. This event is expected to sell out!
