Great Wednesday night parties are sometimes hard to find, but Satellite never fails to attract high-energy crowds due to the tremendous caliber of local and international DJ-talent. Scott Carrelli started this party back in 2000 so he could play the music he loved. It turned out that the people loved his music too and the crowds kept coming back for more, making Satellite one of the most successful weeklies in San Francisco. Event: Phonic w/ Tiger Stripes Date: Thur, March 5th Venue: The Endup DJs: Tiger Stripes, J.Phlip, LadyHaus Music: house Cover: no cover b4 midnight, $10 after
This week Phonic brings you a Nordic lineup with the amazing Tiger Stripes! Stockholm-based producer/DJ Mikael Nordgren aka Tiger Stripes, 12th Floor, and D'Malicious will be supported by the local Nordic girls LadyHaus and J. Phlip. Tiger Stripes recently signed his first EP with über-trendy Get Physical and reached No. 2 in the Beatport charts with the track 'Survivor.' As a DJ he keeps his sound very mixed up, despite people trying to pigeon-hole him as a this-or-that-style DJ. The truth is that his musical background is too long and varied. He plays US deep house and techno mixed with the most minimal German click-house and Scandinavian electronic tech-house…and whatever else he can mix in for good measure. It will be a musical journey not to be missed. (FR)
