A Nightmare Before Christmas
Dress up in your best "Nightmare Before Christmas" black and white freakiness and get ready to dance to that grimey, glitchy, sexy sound that has taken over the electronic music scene lover's heart. This all-night party will also be a music video shoot and a full-on sensory experience, with glitchy, dubstep, psyphy sets from local favorites like Ana Sia, Mycho Cocoa, and Mozaic's and Eprom's side project Hookerz & Blow. If you dress in your freaky-best you may finally get those 15 minutes of fame you've been waiting for.  Tonight's nightmare blow-out also includes live performances from Bad Unkl Sista, live painting, multi-media stage effects, fashion, and live vocal performances. Date: Sat 12/6, Time: 10pm-6am, Place: Gingerbread Warehouse, Cover: $20, link More Info (JE)

Chillin' parties always have a great turnout and this weekend's will be bigger and better than ever. Make sure to catch DJDreamteamer Dirtyhertz, plus Kris X, Laron, Felina, Rondo Brothers, Russell Vargas, Dave Madix, and Chillin' founder and DJ Irene Hernandez-Feiks as they set the right moods with their mixing skills. Get Yer Skate On!
Remember back in the day, when you'd go down to the roller rink, do a little Hokey Pokey, laugh when you fell trying to go backwards, and sweat in anticipation of the slow song--which you eventually ended up grabbing your best friend for and having a better time than you would have had with that boy you had a crush on anyway?  Well good times are here again, with San Francisco's own FunkyTown Skate. As this is the off-playa home of the Black Rock Roller Disco, expect a lot more costumes, frolicking, and debauchery, and less Hokey Pokey--at least of the dance version. Lace 'em up and get down to those old school funk and disco beats! Date: Fri 12/5, Time: 9pm-1am, Place: Gym at ISA High School, Cover: $5 w/o skate rental, $10 w/ rental, link More Info (JE)
