For one night only, the Grammy nominated rapper Mos Def is taking over Ruby Skye to raise money for the Blue Bear’s essential youth music education programs. As one of the best rappers of our time, Mos Def has had a prolific career young rappers dream about. The Blue Bear School of Music’s non-profit mission is to provide superior quality and affordable popular music education to aspiring musicians of all ages, so that they may realize their own dreams. Music funding in public schools barely exists anymore, but programs like this help fill the void. Come see the legend in action and support music education! Red Bull Soapbox Race
Gather up your potential energy and let gravity pull you to Mission Dolores Park for San Francisco’s debut of the Red Bull Soapbox Race. Pit Row on Dolores & 20th opens at 11am, so you can check out all the cool derby racers and their teams, such as Buzzillions Burrito Bombers, Hamster Hybrids, Retro Rocket Racers, Suds of War, Testoster-Rod, The Flying Toastmen, The Zach Attacks!, and many more. Teams will be judged based on four criteria: speed, creativity, showmanship, and the quality of their performance prior to crossing the starting line. Battle of the Champions
There are tons of talented DJs out there, but only the best will go home as champions! Alex smoothly moves back and forth between musical styles from the glamorous Jet Set era to frenetic electronica.
