North Beach Festival
The annual North Beach Festival takes place this weekend at Washington Square Park in San Francisco's Little Italy, and home of the Beat Generation. The outdoor arts and crafts fair celebrates its 54th year with Juried Arts & Crafts Exhibitions and Sales, a Celebrity Pizza Toss, Celebrity Chefs, Assisi Animal Blessings, Arte di Gesso, and live entertainment stages featuring music ranging from R&B, reggae, and rock to salsa, swing, and Latin rock. As the longest running street fair in the country, this event attracts over 75,000 people every year for a historic San Francisco celebration. Stern Grove Festival
Starting this Sunday, the Stern Grove Festival will provide admission-free concerts for the people of the Bay Area every week until August 17th. This year will be the 71st consecutive season of bringing great entertainment at no charge all summer at the beautiful outdoor amphitheatre in Sigmond Stern Grove. Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Booker T. Jones and Detroit's "Great Lady of Soul" Bettye LaVette will kick off the festival with a summer afternoon of soul. Other acts to look forward to include: Suen Kuti and Egypt 80, Sila and the Afrofunk Experience, the San Francisco Symphony, Allen Toussaint, Rachid Taha, MC Rai, Alonzo King's Lines Ballet, Voices of Latin Rock, SambaDá, Bajofondo, One Hawai'i, and the San Francisco Opera. Giant Robot's Tree Show IV
Catch some cool art for a worthy cause at Tree Show IV, now in its final weekend. Giant Robot SF pulls together artists from indie comics, street art, printmaking and more for this exhibition, where each piece was inspired by leafy greens, processed by the artist brain, and spit out in all forms of creative splendor. A portion of the proceeds goes to Friends of the Urban Forest, helping them plant over 1,500 trees a year to keep San Francisco beautiful. So show your love for new art and support SF’s greenest movement, before Tree Show closes its doors for the year! Known for his DJ sets which are an amalgam of afrobeat, broken beat, deep house, hip hop and new electronic jazz fusion, he'll be here tonight to delight ears and drop jaws. (WF)

After creating hundreds of hits singles, he now owns and runs his own label, Magnetic Recordings. When it comes to rockin' the dance floor this guy isn't joking around, so don't be fooled by imitators! Come hear the real deal tonight at Ruby Skye. (WF)
