Haight Ashbury Street Fair
As a center for counterculture and bohemian independence, it's only natural that if the Upper Haight throws a street fair, that it carries on the same tradition. Now in it's 31st year, the Haight Ashbury Street Fair has become a cultural event, featuring vendors, food services, children's activities, and live entertainment on 2 stages. Having featured bands like Jefferson Starship/Airplane, The Tubes and Metallica, the fair continues the same focus on local up-and-coming musical talent. While the main stage will be more band focused, Groundscore's Masonic stage will be a mix of bands and DJs, featuring acts like the White Barons, The Grannies and the Kehoe Nation and DJs Rchard Oh, Qzen, and Felix the Dog. Followed up by an after-party at Milk featuring DJs Monty Luke, Dave Aju and Javaight, the Haight Ashbury Street Fair should give you your fill of all the alternative-artsy-renegade spirit that you've come to expect from one of SF's own nonconformist treasures. Date: Sunday, 6/8, Time: 11am-5:30pm, Place: Haight st. between Masonic and Stanyan, Cover: No cover. More Info (FR)

Be sure to stop and say hello--this is can't miss, and we'll be there to capture the action. Date: Sunday, 6/8, Time: 12 PM, Place: Kelly's Mission Rock Cafe, 817 Terry Francois Boulevard.
