Flight of the Conchords
Known as New Zealand's, "fourth most popular guitar based digi acapella rap funk comedy folk duo", the one and only,  Flight of the Conchords are coming in for a crash landing, straight into to you this evening. These guys have been making the rounds the last couple of years. Now after an HBO sitcom, BBC radioshow, playing the Bonnaroo Festival and a winning a Grammy, they're still on the road getting the word out and selling out concerts everywhere they go. Union Street Festival
Going on its 32nd year, The Union Street Festival is one of the largest annual free events in San Francisco attracting over 100,000 attendees each year. To lessen the event’s ecological impact and to help promote environmental thinking in our day-to-day lives, the festival has decided to go green as the “Union Street Eco-Urban Festival.” There will be an organic farmers market, eco-friendly exhibits, and arts & crafts made with recycled and sustainable materials. Additionally, there will be 150 arts & crafts booths total, 20 food booths, two stages with live entertainment, beer gardens, and bistro-style cafes. Trigger
From the people who brought you Gun Club and Loaded, comes Trigger, a new bi-monthly event where fashion, art and music intersect.  This new event is dedicated to discovering and promoting new artists, and will feature live music from local up and coming bands, established underground DJs, innovative visual arts and fashion. For their premiere event, Trigger is featuring live music from the Hmmm and Lilofee, artistic work from Daniel Blomquist, Krescent, Michael Addison Mersereau, and Jesse Schelsinger, Fashions from Hellyn Teng Mersereau, Lara Grant and Onerary, and tunes from DJs Tokyo Component and Ryan P. Black & White Ball 2008
What’s black and white, and fun all night? The San Francisco Symphony’s Black & White Ball! This black-tie extravaganza is one of the biggest and classiest parties in San Francisco and takes place in three historic War Memorial Buildings and two custom-designed tents with five stages total. Grammy-winning singer, Seal, will headline the event with an exclusive evening performance at Davis Symphony Hall. Afterwards, the main event begins with catered food, signature cocktails, and unlimited dancing to a dozen musical acts ranging from salsa and samba to big band and jazz, plus legendary hip-hop pioneer DJ Afrika Bambaataa. Net proceeds will benefit the Symphony's music education program for SF’s Elementary Schools, Adventures in Music, which serves over 20,000 students every year. He's been pushing out the jams, as well as the envelope, for nearly a decade now, but his career really got a boost after touring and recording with Beck. This guy's stuff is almost completely guided by his voice as a composer, so you never know what to expect, and as for tonight your guess is as good as mine. Enjoy! (WF)

As head honcho to the minimal techno label, Minus, Richie Hawtin has been one of the main pioneers in redefining the genre, and responsible for converting scores of new fans to techno. Showing that it isn't just a one man job, Richie brings the techno seductress known as Magda, in addition to the synthetic funkiness of a live performance by Heartthrob. If you want to understand the depths of minimal techno, this is where you'll hear it pushed to it's edge. (JV8)

There are times when we should let bygones be bygone but definitely not when it comes to Sugar. Tonight he is ours, joining resident Franky Boissy, a man who is also quite good at tearing up tables around the world, for a night that is promised to give you just what you need.
