Digital Be-In: Eco City
Only a city like San Francisco could have an earth friendly nightclub, so why not celebrate the end of Earth Day week at Temple? In order to recognize Earth Day, Digital Be-In will be taking over Temple and turning it into Eco City. Featuring visionary speakers, presentations, exhibits, performances, live music, top DJs, visuals and art installations, the Be-In will be a launching platform for evolutionary ideas and change, so we can rock it that much longer on this planet. Talks will be given on humanistic technology and sustainability, live music will be provided by Michael Kang of String Cheese Incident and Waterjuice, DJs Dragonflly, Rhythmystic, Alex Theory and others will be rockin the dance floor, the Moon Gallery will be providing an Eco-Fashion Show, plus a performance by the Shamanic Cheerleaders! Creating a better Earth to live in definitely isn't easy work, but with a little knowledge, action, and a good time, we can all help make this a better planet for the future's clubgoers...(and the rest of the Earth too!) WMC 08 - As it was...

Miami 08 WMC: As it was...
Down the Rabbit Hole
Dr. Agatston created the South Beach Diet to help people lose weight. Hmm? After extensive field research in South Beach by our own experts, we discovered the true secrets behind this diet:- 1) No Sleep, 2) Very little food, 3) Lots & lots of Dancing and 4) much mind-altering consumables. If you were on the same diet in Miami, then you understand that it took us a while to recover from the week's worth of music and debauchery known as the Winter Music Conference. Going on it's 23rd year, the WMC has evolved into a clubber's paradise where the world's best DJs gather to show who can rock it hardest. There's no better way to give you an accurate description then to let our pictures do the talking. Our photographers were especially selected due to their finely-honed sense of F.O.M.O. (Fear Of Missing Out). As an upshot, they hit it hard and fast, documenting a record amount of events. We’d like to thank our high-powered camera-toting Delta Force comprised of Damien Miller (Sapient Photography), Bennett Sell-Kline (BSKphoto), Peter Dada (RiseSF), Kevin Sam and our own Sam Khedr for braving the path down the rabbit hole to bring you the most extensive collection of photo coverage for this year’s WMC. So fix yourself a drink, put on your favorite dance mix, turn off the lights, and enjoy the show. (FR) link View All Pictures Here!

Event: Hot Chip
Venue: The Fillmore
DJs: Hot Chip, Free Blood
Music: electro-pop

With a band like Hot Chip, it's not about their albums (which are good regardless)—it's about their live shows. Who would of thought five nerdy keyboardists from London could rock out so hard? They jam to every song creating live remixes that leave nobody standing still. While they play live instruments during their shows, all five members also have some DJ skills which got them on Pete Tong's BBC Radio One broadcast. Don't go if you're not going to dance! (EB)
