WMC 08 - As it was...

Miami WMC 08: As it was...
Down the Rabbit Hole
Dr. Agatston created the South Beach Diet to help people lose weight. Hmm? After extensive field research in South Beach by our own experts, we discovered the true secrets behind this diet:- 1) No Sleep, 2) Very little food, 3) Lots & lots of Dancing and 4) much mind-altering consumables. If you were on the same diet in Miami, then you understand that it took us a while to recover from the week's worth of music and debauchery known as the Winter Music Conference. Going on it's 23rd year, the WMC has evolved into a clubber's paradise where the world's best DJs gather to show who can rock it hardest. There's no better way to give you an accurate description then to let our pictures do the talking. Our photographers were especially selected due to their finely-honed sense of F.O.M.O. (Fear Of Missing Out). As an upshot, they hit it hard and fast, documenting a record amount of events. We’d like to thank our high-powered camera-toting Delta Force comprised of Damien Miller (Sapient Photography), Bennett Sell-Kline (BSKphoto), Peter Dada (RiseSF), Kevin Sam and our own Sam Khedr for braving the path down the rabbit hole to bring you the most extensive collection of photo coverage for this year’s WMC. So fix yourself a drink, put on your favorite dance mix, turn off the lights, and enjoy the show. (FR) link View All Pictures Here!

Tenori-On tour
Ok, so normally we aren't ones to support the marketing of products, but this thing looked so cool, we thought we'd give it some love. The Tenori-On is an innovative new musical instrument which incorporates an interesting new visual element to music composition. Using it's 256 LED buttons, the Tenori-On turns the music you create into a "moving wall of light graffiti", that is "painted" as you press the buttons. How cool is that? Designed for advanced users and as an introductory instrument for people that want to compose, the Tenori-On is going on tour, with it's San Francisco stop being at Ten 15. This multi-media presentation will be led by it's inventor Toshio Iwai, and will feature performances using the Tenori-On by artists such as Robert Lippok, Pole, Sutekh, I am Robot and Proud, Nathan Michael and Safety Scissors. So show up, "ooh" and "aahh", listen to some tunes, and you might even win a free Tenori-On! (Unless I beat you too it!). Date: Friday, 4/18, Time: 10pm, Place: Ten 15, link More Info (JV8)

Uncle Jay Explains the News
Tax time! In America there are no exceptions, so let’s hope Pope Benedict is keeping all his receipts. Stories in the news have been sort of like taxes, too, because they just won’t go away: the fighting in Iraq, the sinking economy, the squabbling Democrats, the ailing airlines, the Rolling Stones. Uncle Jay explains it all!.
