Noise Pop 2008 Pop N Shop
Happy Sweet 16 Noise Pop! This indie festival began in 1993, with its lineup featuring some of the hottest underground rock bands the bay has to offer. Since its inception it's expanded into a full cultural experience and even a trunk show, with over 30 local designers and artists filling 12 Galaxies with art, clothing and jewelry accessories. Want some vintage clothing? Check out Siya Clothing, vintage pieces with an urban flare. Need a hoodie or a unique bag? Lucky Space Monkey has you covered, with owner and painter Sarah Chase, using her paintings as inspiration for designs. After having great success last year, Noise Pop is again featuring a group art show with paintings, photographs and other art created by members of the music community. DJ Omar from Popscene and Ryan Paulsen from Booty Basement get down with their funky selves, dropping the phatty beats while Batter Blaster presents a free pancake and waffle brunch.  Shopping, music and breakfast, what more could you want? Ojos de Brujo Techari Live
San Francisco based Six degrees records continues their tradition of bringing the finest in global electronica with the screening party for Ojos de Brujo. Ojos de Brujo are a Barcelona collective that fuse hip hop,dub and bhangra with traditional Flamenco and Rumba music. Tonight's party features a screening of their Techari Live DVD which captures their powerful performance with beautiful graphics and camera work. Throw in the eclectic stylings of The Worker and and Bob Duskins throwing down a varied mix of global beats and you've got a party which will take you around the world. What was formerly known as FilterSF, has now turned into Faktion, but that doesn't mean the techno doesn't thump any differently. Heading up the night from LA is Modularz's quick mixing DJ Developer, dropping a techno mix incorporating gear and decks, while SF's own Endosine gives a live performance prior to his departure for Berlin. I'm not sure if SF needs another techno cult, but this Faktion sounds like one worth joining! (JV8)

The duo of JFK and ALP released their well received debut LP "The Looks,"a little over a year ago, as well as, remixed tracks for the likes of Justice, Chromeo, and Armand Van Helden. Along with the musical portion of the show, this event will include interactive art installations by Bay Area new media artists along with blasthaus' low-tech gaming initiative BOLT (Bureau of Low Technology).  So get ready shed your clothes, skin and inhibitions at this elecrofunk blow out! Zita starts you off with a little hip-hop, then shifts to funk and back again, seemlessly switching through genres.
