A Bon Johnson live show has been closely linked to antics seen at many a Rick James after party. A laundry list of fur.. glitter.. and of course Charlie Murphy. Frenchy le Freak got his break when the DJ who was supposed to play was drunk. Out of pitch record players and spinning at high school parties didn't phase Frenchy. His love of house kept him going. Even his required navy tour didn't stop him from spinning at local clubs, but it did help turn his sound into a postcard of beats. By mixing latin, reggae, dub, and hip hop into house, Frenchy (a Nitevibe DJ Dreamteamer) makes the dancefloor feel like a trip around the world! (KS) |

This Venezuelan and now Cali native, Kid 606, will be droppin it like Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, mad kooky! He's been producing since the late 90's and is known as much for his producing as he is for his super cross genre mixing. Don't worry because everything from glitch to i.d.m. (Intelligent Dance Music) to high tempo break beats to just straight noise to mashups will be covered. Unlike many of his peers, he has pulled much of his inspiration from industrial music and death metal. Thus, this will be a textbook lesson in absolute sound destruction! (WF) |

Adding to the City's collective creativity is former Pittsburgh resident turned [KONTROL] dj Craig Kuna, who's dropping in BABD's monthly techno jam, FilterSF. This East coast veteran cut his teeth throwing parties and rocking dance floors, eventually helping create the party that is [KONTROL]. Influenced by equal parts of Kraftwerk, AC/DC, and Farley Jackmaster Funk, mid-west rave legend and Brooklyn, NY resident Mr. Sunshine is raising the bar. He's not just a DJ, he's a rockstar and a mid-west rave legend. He wrote the preface to the book "Rave America" and appeared in the rave documentary "Rise." This sultry psychedelic diva initially gained notoriety in the early 90s with the dance funk trio Deee-Lite and since then has been busy collaborating with producers such as Bootsy Collins and A Guy called Gerald, in addition to dj-ing & performing live all over the world.
