SF Sketchfest kicks off January 10, with comedians cracking jokes while the musicians rock out with a variety show and party. Funnyman Paul F. Tompkins takes a break from his hectic touring and TV schedules to spread his comical genius with the bay area. Todd Barry entertains the SF crowds with the same ease that he amuses Conan O'Brien. Rhys Darby brings his mime and sound effect act, reuniting with his costar from Flight of the Conchords, Kristen Schaal, who's one of the hosts of this event. Aimee Mann provides the acoustic rock music, showcasing her piano skills and live band feel, while the New Wave City DJs Skip and ShinDog hold it down at the afterparty. 111??? by merkley???
They say that one cure for public speaking is to picture your crowd naked. One way to make this a lot easier is to attend merkley???'s 111??? event at 111 Minna gallery, featuring 111 of merkley???'s lady friends wearing nothing but the smile they were born with, and their favorite pair of shoes. Hot. All of this is in celebration of the release of merkley???'s book featuring 111 nude girls on sofas. Throw in book models & dj's Chelsea Starr, Heather B, Jenny Young, JeniLuv, Kozee and Ultraviolet, and you've got an event that will either cure your stage fright or leave you speechless. Boobs, bush, beats & shoes. Sounds like a hot event to me. When: Friday, 1/11 8pm-2am, Where: 111 Minna Gallery, Cover: no cover, linkMore Info (JV8)
