But Irene Hernandez-Feiks has been doing this for a while that she makes it look easy. Whether you're there to see RC Rivera or Paul Kaiser's photography, Nathan Caitlin's print work, Mixerfriendly's clothing or the eco-friendly jewelry and accessories from 19 Moons, just to name a few, there's so much variety in fashion, art and film that you could get all your Christmas shopping done in one swoop. And the evening wouldn't be complete unless there was some kind of musical talent present say like KrisX, Russell Vargas, Laron, Didje Kelli, Dirtyhertz, Taj and Dave Madix. Flaming Lotus Girls
With undyling love and affection and lipstick kisses, the spectacular fire art collective known as the Flaming Lotus Girls invites us all to a fundraiser for their Serpent Mother World Tour. If you've been to Burning Man, then you've probably seen some of their gigantic fire art installations such as The Hand of God (2003), The Seven Sisters  (2004), The Angel of the Apocalypse (2005), and (the biggest of all) The Serpent Mother (2006). Now they want to take their 168 foot-long metal serpent sculpture around the world to show everybody its awesome glory. The fundraiser includes a gallery show and silent auction. Any support we can give these women (and men) will definitely make a difference and help them make more super giant fire art! Forward-thinking techno jam Filter.SF breaks out of all typical conceptions of techno this month when they bring you producer David Last. Moving outside of the standards of minimalism, David incorporates the deeper funk of dancehall, dub and hip-hop with his solid electronic manipulation skills in order to present a fresh and energetic techno sound. Los Angeles native Doc Martin will be gracing the decks with his unique blend of West Coast and Chicago house. Joining them on the bill are M3 of Green Gorilla, Ryan Poulsen and TK Disko of Gun club infamy, Alona of Gritt and Love noodles and Mike Bee of Future Breakz. Finally, six years later, Ideology has arrived and, as anyone will tell you, it was worth the wait. And, also finally, they’ll play an Evil Breaks show tonight live with Davey Dave in celebration of their highly anticipated and highly satisfying CD. Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation has come out from behind the decks and started his own live music project called Dust Galaxy. Their self-titled debut album, which was released this past spring, possesses a musical complexity similar to Thievery Corp., but with more rock, punk, and acoustic influences. Garza and ESL labelmate Ursula 1000 will also play their own DJ sets, making this a killer night of eclectic electronica. (EB)
