House for the Homeless (www.house4homeless.org) or H4H is throwing their 2nd annual event to benefit the Emergency Housing Consortium (EHC) which shelters and supports runaway and abandoned youth in and around the San Jose area. This is the coolest part—it’s all “ house” music! Isn't that clever? So dance your ass off for a good cause. The impressive DJ Lineup includes: Rick Preston, Michael Anthony, David Coleman, Dawn of Sound, DJ Denise, Queen Agnes B., N8 Castro and many more. There will also be some fun family BBQ business happening like volleyball, horseshoes and rock climbing. SF’s Next 100 - So the idea behind Urb Magazine's Next 100 (not the first 100) is to bring attention to DJs and musicians on the rise. In last week's issue we received some flake for not mentioning SF's more established DJ's - those DJ's are already in the "First 100". So with that cleared up. I'll tell you. 1) The guest DJs are the best in the city - Apollo, Shortkut etc. 2) The crowd so far includes trend setting types including several promoters. 3) The cool woman who crochets hats sets up a table inside. 4) breakdancers practice upstairs AND 5) Because I'm psychic.

On another note, if you are unemployed like half the city, you can go find your sugar daddy/momma in this high-class fancy hotel bar.

Mateo and Matos have been DJing and producing since the mid 80s. An album they released called "Classic Inspirations" ranges from Mongo Santamaria to Billy Ocean but more conventional influences are the DJs that were playing when they started out like Masters at Work and Tony Humphries. In typical NYC style, their funky sometimes Latin influenced house sound will not let you down on the dance floor.

Get Rude with some 2-step and jazzy dance floor flavor then tie it all together with some dancehall. Last month had a great turnout and MC Collage ripped it up on the mic. Get there early for some 2 for 1 beer action. Hide in one of the secret cave-like booths and puff herb.

I don't type fast enough to list all the DJs at this event. Basically just read the first 3-5, that's enough talent to keep the party raving all night with or without the 20+ other DJs. Hotel Ibiza has modeled itself after the island near Spain as a Mecca for all night party insanity. It's a rave for big fancy kids who still like to get down until tomorrow.

It's Deep Dish, you know that progressive genre smashing producer/DJ duo from DC? They won a Grammy this year -- best remix for Dido's "Thank you". Deep Dish's noble mission is to give dance music the credibility and exposure it deserves. Check out more from these superheroes in the Nitevibe interview. I spoke with Ali Dubfire the day after he won the Grammy. Damn, I was nervous. These guys hang out with Madonna and stuff.

Tra La La. I know, it sounds like the name of a 50's diner but it's really run by some serious funky jazzy house heads. Linden C (UK) has held residencies in Ibiza, Naked Music's RaSoul is worth way more than $5 on his own. So this party get's the "Bang for your Buck Award". Smooth out your hangover with some jazzy house.

The city's longest running soul and hip-hop night - this party is synonymous with 330 Ritch. A slightly older crowd dressed to impress. Don't EVEN THINK about trying to walk up in here in those Nikes. No athletic wear, no attitudes. This is elegant hip-hop, only the smoothest players need apply.

Juke Joint is the best spot to celebrate a divorce, marriage, threesome, inheritance, gambling debt, birthday, pet's birthday, National Mural Month, parole, losing a job, finding a job, blowjobs, anything that has to do with the Giants and of course the infamous holiday called "Tuna de Mayo." Toph and friends are always celebrating with some crazy-ass diggin' in the crates style soul and 80's inner city madness. The Herb Caen Martini Society meets at midnight. Tell the crew.
