Rock The Bells
World-class hip-hop platform Rock The Bells is back for its annual dose of hype and heavyweights. Rage Against the Machine and the Wu-Tang Clan headline the bill this year, which means lots of good music that’s heavy on skill and message. Joining them is a mile-long list of luminaries, including Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Pharoahe Monch, EPMD, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Public Enemy, the Roots, Cypress Hill, Blackalicious, and MF Doom, among others. If you’ve seen the documentary about Rock The Bells, you’ll know that this is an historic event – the first festival brought the entire Wu-Tang Clan together on stage for what would be the last time before ODB’s untimely death. Since then, Rock The Bells has expanded into a multi-city event that SF is lucky to be a part of. Date: Saturday, 8/18, Time: 11am - 10pm, Place: McCovey Cove parking lot, 3rd and King, Cover: $76, VIP $151, linkMore Info. (EK)
