Join Fecal Face at 111 Minna Gallery for a very special,
numerically-peculiar 7.5 year anniversary. The art website's annual art show and
gala is a hit every year and this anniversary round looks to be no different, what
with the more than 35 notable artists, bands, and DJs slated to blow your
mind. The opening party tonight promises a live performance from the Dodos (among
other bands), local DJ sets, and artists from the Bay Area and beyond. Being
that last year’s “125 Years of the Internet” party was a huge success with over
2,000 attendees, it would behoove you to show up early and, of course, stay

Iron Comic
Friday's a hoot at the Make-Out Room when Nato Green presents the epically madcap Iron Comic. Inspired by Iron Chef, this live game show pits 5 comics against each other in a race for the funniest routine. Given topics suggested by the audience and a ten minute time limit, each comedian must come up with an act worthy of the title [insert dramatic TV music here] …IRON COMIC. Sweetening the funny pot is returning champion Sean Keane plus challengers – and comedic stars in their own right – Mike Meehan, a local comedy legend and a third of the Meehan Brothers, Tapan Trivedi, Kellen Erskine, and Jeff Applebaum, who recently appeared on Craig Ferguson. Creator Nato Green, national headliner Mark Pitta, and Kris Tinkle will also be there to get you laughing, so come ready for to crack up all night. Premeditated Insanity
Prolific local artist Nate Van Dyke will
present new works tonight at the FIFTY24SF Gallery and it promises to be
eye-opening. Van Dyke will be showing art made from pencil, ink, marker,
watercolor, gauche, acrylic, and oils, but regardless of what medium the pieces
are in, his signature style always shows through in the contrast of thick
and thin lines and the high sheen of his mixed media work. It might interest you
to learn, video game fans, that he is currently working on the Sega video game “Iron
Man,” set to drop in 2008. Van Dyke has also been featured in several magazines and done
work for Converse, EMI Records, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, among others.
