Techno-Tribal Dance
Come experience a Saturday night like no other in the known universe when the Harmony Festival's Techno-Tribal Dance takes flight once again. Under the vast cathedral of Grace Pavilion, a sea of costumed, dancing revelers will get down to the beats of top electronica artists amid a full spectrum laser display of fantastic figures painted in light. And the insanity doesn’t stop there: fire spinners and aerialists will soar above while Rabbit in the Moon, Shpongle, Dominic B. of Stanton Warriors, Ganga Giri and others take dancers on an auditory adrenalin trip below. Not surreal enough for you? The night gets marvelously freakier when Gamelan Goddesses and dream beings on stilts cut paths through the dance floor, adding yet another element of the beautifully bizarre. Date: Saturday, 6/9, Time: 8pm-2am, Place: Grace Pavilion, Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Cover: $32 presale, linkMore Info. (EK)

Save Club Six
If there was ever a time to rally in the name of a nightlife cause, now is that time. In the face of a possible month-long suspension, Club Six is in imminent danger of closing. Luckily, you can do something about it. As owner Angel Cruz explains in an open letter, a complaint filed against Club Six claims that the club violated a noise ordinance. As a result, the Entertainment Commission of San Francisco has summoned Club Six for a hearing to suspend two permits. What would the suspensions mean? No DJs, no performers, no dancing - for one month. What would the month-long closing mean? No more Club Six, as the suspension would put the club out of business. What does this mean for you? Action. Go to the hearing on Tuesday and explain how amazing Club Six has been and will continue to be or, if you cannot make it, check out the awesome events still going down. Date: Tuesday, 6/5 Time: Hearing will begin between 4 and 5pm, Place: Room 406, City Hall, linkMore Info. (EK)

Toil & Trouble
Something's brewing over at Space Gallery and it looks like art and smells like awesome. In celebration and support of the fantasy-suspense-and-seriously-freaky film "Story of a Witch," director Edward Rosenblum has teamed up with two curators to stage a night of art, auction, food, and music. Toil & Trouble will showcase paintings, mixed media, sculpture, and video instillations by more than thirty artists, all of it available for your buying pleasure. There will also be a silent auction, raffle, kissing booth, treats, and brews (these of the alcoholic variety), along with music from the turntables of Omar, Nako, Jenny Young, and Chris Golden. Proceeds will go towards finishing and then presenting the film at international festivals, so come and spend in the name of all that is fun and freaky. Berlin collective and playhouse recording artist My My drop by Love It Wednesdays to give you a dose of dancefloor minimalism.
