The San Francisco House Music Community has come together for this,
their fourth benefit for children in Africa with AIDS. Made
up of18+ DJs and 6 media and promotional sponsors, the
group hopes their combined forces will bring out an unprecedented
crowd, which will result in a huge impact on the NextAid Project.
The proceeds of this event are going towards: An ecological center
in South Africa that will serve 50 children orphaned as a result
of AIDS. And the music? Well, get ready to hear it ALL from
deep and minimal techno by Fil Latorre, to bass-heavy, glitchy breaks by
Dov of Muti Music, to hoppin', deep, and funky house beats from
the likes of DJ Seven, Galen, Solar, and Lance De Sardi. Come
early to catch this massive lineup.

On III
It's the 3rd annual "Dream On" benefit for City
of Dreams, an organization that helps at-risk youth build
brighter futures by providing mentors for them in group settings
and one-on-one matches. Mentors Melyss of Sister SF and Sara D
have seen the organization grow in participation and effectiveness
and are looking forward to donating all the proceeds from this
event to City of Dreams and the community they are dedicated to.
Donating their time behind the decks, you'll find a plethora of
local DJ favorites toting their house beats and breaks tracks,
including M3, shOOey, J-Fi, Jayo, Duserock, Dave Mak,
and Kevin Wardell live on the drums. Don't forget to buy
your raffle ticket and stick around for the drawing at midnight.

Starting this week, the Mission
Creek Music & Arts Festival floods the city with music,
film, dance and merriment, all of the independent persuasion.
One of the festival's many delights—and there are so, so many—is
the impressive breadth of talent on display. Everyone from the
hyperkinetic, clothes-hating Extra
Action Marching Band to RRIICCEE with Vincent Gallo, Cory
Lee Granet, and Eric Erlandson to MCMAF favorite Sugar
and Gold turn out to fill a schedule that stretches ten days
long and covers almost twelve venues. Other delights include shows
by I Am Spoonbender (playing their first set in three years),
Edith Frost ("pensive countrified psychedelia"), and DMBQ (Japanese
