Monkey
If you know of Peter Hudson, then you have probably been amazed by his art installations at Burning Man, though his work has been featured in films, on magazine covers, and at music festivals around the world. Hudson's life-size stroboscopic zoetropes give the illusion of motion to human forms through his use of light, leaving onlookers awestruck, whether they are watching from the playa or from their computers at home. Humouroboros is the name of the next masterpiece Hudson is producing, and with your help, this benefit will bring the piece to the playa this year. His work will be on display so you'll enjoy the hex it tends to throw on your brain while you shake it on the dancefloor to bringers of the noize, An-ten-nae, Anthony Mansfield, Laird, Fred Funk, Syd Gris, Shissla, and many more of our favorite SF beat jocks. You'll hear every sort of beat pattern and bassline from this collection of talent, from house tunes to breaks, hip-hop, Latin, and live beatboxing. Date: Saturday 4/28, Time: 9pm - late, Place: Kink.com's Porn Palace, 415 Jessie St. @ Mission, Cover: $20 dnation, linkMore Info. (DKD)

Xzistance on the Edge of Chaos
When the brand-spankin'-new 210 Studios opened its doors this March, they had two paintings to offer visitors. Before you question whether owner Zack Hall and director Jared Brick might have tried to curate a slightly larger opening show, know this: The main piece is an 8 x 80 foot painting created in a collaborative effort by three different artists. Mr. MaxxMoses, Chor Boogie, and Joshua Mays' combined talents resulted in a seamless, pulsating canvas of crisp graphics and psychedelically-bright butterflies, woven into an undulating and surreal landscape. Due to the popularity of the work, 210 Studios decided to keep the exhibit open indefinitely, and this, along with local DJs, snacks, and donation-based beverages slated to be present, is certainly good news for people who love art news. Date: Saturday, 4/18, Time: 8 - 12pm, Place: 210 Studios, 210 Clara St., Cover: no cover, linkMore Info. (EK)

Pandora's Trunk
It's the first anniversary celebration of Pandora's Trunk, and they sure are infusing their regular bi-weekly event with an increased party vibe and a highly celebratory spin. You'll come away with at least one garment of your very own, as artist and screenprinter Marshall Adams, of Porcelynne fame, will be there screen printing his designs live onto a shirt of your choice. Kitten on the Keys will woo you with her piano performance and sultry vocals, and you'll enjoy a gourmet feast, decked out drinks, and hours of fabulously fashion-oriented chaos. Date: Saturday 4/28, Time: 1pm-7pm, Place: Mina Dresden Gallery, 312 Valencia @ 14th St., Cover: no cover, linkMore Info (DKD)
