Flip
Your Lid!
As Prince pointed out, sexy never left. But charm, elegance, a
flair for the debonair? Long, long gone. Enter Flip
Your Lid! and cue waltz music. The Black
Rock Arts Foundation brings dapper back with their second
annual benefit and, as the name suggests, the occasion calls on
you to come not only with a generous heart, but a be-capped head.
This being San Francisco, the benefit is in support of interactive
art and civic participation, "Burning Man style," which means
lots of crazy hats, "scintillating art," and fresh music at the
after-party. Dust off your favorite fedora and leave the house
looking sharp, because it all goes down at supperclub,
an establishment that certainly knows a thing or two about style.
Date: Thurs 4/19, Time: benefit
dinner 6:30pm - 2am, after-party 10:30pm - 2am, Place:
supperclub, Cover: benefit dinner $125-$250,
after-party $10 with hat, $20 without, More

Digital
Be-In

entertainment extravaganza featuring world class "conscious music"
artists. On Earth Day eve with the theme of "Biomimicry," the
2007 Digital Be-In is a launching pad for new initiatives in the
sustainability movement. Come early for the 7-9 pm Symposium with
visionaries and innovators of the green revolution. Digital Be-In

Bohemian
Carnival Indie Circus
Spawned from deep within the eerily intertwined underground dance
and circus communities, Bohemian Carnival is a madhouse orgy of
aerialists, music, and clowns. Now, normally, seeing the words
"clown" and "orgy" in the same sentence is more than enough to
send me running for the hills, but with Gooferman
and the Vau de Vire Society prominently involved, I set my fears
aside and discovered the awesome array of talent and color set
to some of the best beats in town. In addition to Boenobo and
his freakishly talnted Gooferman, they've got funksters Stymie
and Black Sci-Fi, Coop and AudiLew from Xenodrome, MoPo, Eric
Sharp and more to keep your ears abuzzing and your feet moving.
Keep your eyes up and you'll catch Vau
de Vire, who are just plain hot, you've flying around with
the death-defying CowboyGirls, their own special GoGo contingent,
the Gimmiemonie$, and of course, your standard, run-of-mill, terrifying
and freaky Shadow
Circus. This SF original is simply a touch too insane to survive
anywhere else, only in the freak-rich soil of San Francisco can
it thrive. Date: Sat 4/21, Time:
9pm, Place: DNA Lounge (375 11th St.), Cover:

Feelin'
It Premier
If you know anything about skateboarding, then you've heard of
the Krux Trucks

skateboarding movies, and it's time to premiere his new video,

way, all set to a keyboard inspired 80's music. Filmed on location
in Moscow, Shanghai, Barcelona, Croatia and across the United
States, "Feelin' It" features the entire Krux team, Caswell
Berry, Colt
Cannon, Louie
Barletta, Cairo Foster and Justin Strubing. DJs Mophono
and Satva

Digital Underground come

quirky, humorous lyrics, to their Parliament Funkadelic-esque music

charged and gangsta raps of Public Enemy and NWA. If you miss the
"Humpty Dance," or are a "Freak of the Industry," then this party
