Happy B-Day Pink!
You've got to hand it to Pink. When the old Liquid closed it doors, people weren't exactly sure about what would follow. But Gilles, Franky, and the rest of the Pink crew worked some sort of magic and created a warm space that maintains an elegant vibe without any pretension. They've exanded their dancefloor and their reputation over the past three years, and now they are known as one of the finest venues on the West Coast for lovers of house music. For their third anniversary, they are sharing the love of their devoted fans with a massive birthday bash and a gift to the community. All door proceeds will go to Glide Memorial Church, one of the foremost community service organizations in San Francisco, to help them in their mission to give help to the poor and sick regardless of their background or religion. And of course, for a celebration like this, Pink's resident DJs and special guest vocalist Lisa Shaw will be pulling out all the stops. So please join us as we raise a champagne toast to three years of Pink, and many more to come. Date: Sat. 2/17, Time: 9pm, Place: Pink (2925 16th St.), Cover: $10 donation to Glide Memorial Church. linkMore Info. (SG)

Pillow Fight!
Valentine's Day is great and all, but in all the intensity of showing off your love (or being bitter at those damn show-offs), I think far too many of us forget to just relax and have fun. Luckily for us, there's a new tradition in San Francisco that addresses the alarming shortage of fun, whimsy, and (mostly) injury-free roughhousing. That tradition is the V-Day Pillowfight on Justin Herman Plaza. If you weren't there last year, you'll need to know the rules: 1.) tell everyone you know about Pillowfight; 2.) tell EVERYONE you know about Pillowfight; 3.) wait for the Ferry Building clock to strike six; 4.) don't hit anyone without a pillow; 5.) don't hit anyone holding a camera; and 6.) HAVE FUN! Date: Wed. 2/14, Time: 6pm, Place: Justin Herman Plaza, Cover: BYOP (Bring Your Own Pillow), linkMore Info. (SG)

Union at Grace Cathedral
Regardless of your thoughts on religion, one has to acknowledge a massive edifice like Grace Cathedral as in impressive work of art. ArtSFest is taking this imposing, sacred space and using it as a setting for contemplation, meditation, and an immersive, participatory forum for activating the spirit through interactive, performance ritual, sacred music, visionary art, conscious spoken word and lucid meditation. With the intention to encourage community through the arts, UNION will provide a dynamic individual journey in the context of a greater communal experience. And if that seems a bit too new age for you, you can also just check out an incredible building or the famous labyrinths with the backdrop of an original composition by Mark Deutsch and his personal creation, the Bazantar. Date: Fri 2/16, Time: 6:30pm, Place: Grace Cathedral (1100 California), Cover: $10-$20 sliding scale, linkMore Info. (CQ)
