DJ Nirvana
Top10 DJDreamteam

Once again we asked you to name your dream lineup, and you did not disappoint. The party of the people is taking shape, and once again we're putting all of your favorites under one roof for the ultimate night of DJ nirvana. This is the ultimate celebration of the sounds you love, and the record amount of votes told us that we needed to increase our capacity and go deeper into the afterhours, so we moved to a Friday night and moved to one of SF's most storied locations. 1015 has always possessed an unmatched ability to offer up a stunning musical buffet with its many rooms, and the epic sound and visuals of the main floor are unlike any other. And believe me, we'll be taking full advantage as we take the top 10 vote getters, Bassnectar (Lorin), Taj, David Harness, Miguel Migs, Syd Gris, Mancub, Smoove, Dirtyhertz, and Seven, and add in a few very deserving guests. Aaron Jae, Atimatik, Cyber Joe, Laird, Rooz, shOOey, Mozaic, Aaron Pope, Adam Ohana, and Erik Hz have all graciously accepted invitations to make sure every inch of available space under 1015's historic roof is filled wall-to-wall with incredible beats and dancing feet. With over 500 DJs to choose from, these are the vote-getters that won your love and are the people's choice. Now's their time to shine and soak up the love and shine it back on the greatest DJ scene on earth. Date: Friday, 2/9, Time: 10pm-6am, Place: 1015 (1015 Folsom @ 6th), Cover: limited $15 presale ticketslinkMore Info. (SG)

The Culprits

Art at the Dump
You'll see how much potential a piece of trash can have when you visit this artist in residency series at the San Francisco dump. After sorting through trash for three months and creating art, two local artists are ready to show their creations in what is the ultimate in recyling. Nome Edonna and Sudhu Tewari are featured this month. Edonna is calling his show "System Overload" and has focused on bridging the gap between "what now is" and "what possibly can be" while making a commentary about our throw away society. Tewari, a musician/instrument builder focused on creating new electro-acoustic instruments and electronics out of anything he can find, named his show "AUX: Tune for Minimum Smoke". Come see what a little creativity can make out of our garbage. Date: Friday 1/26 - Saturday 1/27, Time: 5-9pm Friday, 1-5pm Saturday, Place: SF Recycling & Disposal, (503 Tunnel Ave), Cover: no cover, linkMore Info (SIN)

Activating The Medium Festival
We're all music lovers here, and I think we all agree that electronic music is aces. But why do we prefer artificial beats and synthesized instruments to sounds that occur in nature? It's probably got something to do with the way we use our ears, but it's hard to say just how. Luckily the Exploratorium has opened a new exhibit, Listen!, which can help us learn more about our ears. And for the tenth year, a group of sound artists from around the world will gather there to examine sound, hearing, and the boundaries between the natural and artificial worlds. Check out their works in a two-night show: it's free with admission to the Exploratorium, and might just give you more insight into how sensitive—and selective—your hearing really is. Date: Fri-Sat, 1/26-27, Time: 7pm, Place: The Exploratorium, Cover: no cover with $13 museum admission, linkMore Info. (JH)

We'll start with some good mellow blues & rock (courtesy of Etienne de Rocher) on Wednesday, kick it up a notch Thursday with hot pop and Music For Animals – and Friday let's get really wild for your electro dance party with Gold Chains and Jefrodisiac. As my gift to you, I promise to dance my ass off—as long as you swear that you'll keep on being your wonderful self! Let's never be apart.
