Young First Anniversary
It's only been one year since de Young re-opened in Golden
Gate Park, yet the fine arts museum has received over 1.6 million
visitors. Come see why the spot is so special this weekend, while
the anniversary is being celebrated and there's many an interesting
exhibition and event. Featured performances include spoken word
by Marc Pinate and several diverse musicians including the Salvador
Santana Band, the Stairwell Sisters, The Marcus Shelby Jazz Trio,
and Vinyl Funk. There will be a book signing by Ron Sansoe, hands-on
Art making in the Sculpture Garden, and Friday's dance party goes
'til midnite! Word is, Mayor Newsom will be there himself on Saturday
