Power to the Peaceful Festival
As our world grows more chaotic and confused, it is important to remember that each and every one of us has power, and that we have many choices for how we wield that power. Power to the Peaceful, presented by Michael Franti and Spearhead, is a place for those of us who strive for harmony. And what better way to celebrate that, than with music? The artist lineup for this year’s event is too huge to list here, and the crowd is expected to number over 50,000. If peace is your aim, come and find strength, love, and community here, while learning more about how you can make a change in the world around you. Dont miss the Afterparty featuring Michael Franti & Freq Nasty at Mezzanine. Trailer from last year here! Date: Saturday 9/9, Time: 11am-5pm, Place: Speedway Meadow, Golden Gate Park, Cover: No cover, More Info. (JH)

Soft Serve
What do art, music, clothing, and video games have in common? Do you really have to ask? If you honestly don’t know -- or if you just want to get your fill of all four at once -- get yourself down to Club Six for Soft Serve, a traveling art show presented by Rockstar Games. They call it “an organized juxtaposition” of live painting and screenprinting, musical performance, a tournament of Rockstar’s new release Table Tennis, and much more. To me, it just sounds like one big crazy circus – and that’s just the kind of circus I don’t want to miss. Date: Wednesday 9/6, Time: 7pm-2am, Place: Club Six, Cover: $10, More Info. (JH)
