Who
Killed the Electric Car?
This
documentary on the short life and mysterious death of the General
Motors fleet of EV-1 electric vehicles, makes us painfully aware
that we came very close to skirting this situation with ever-rising
gas prices and at one point had a valuable remedy for the American
oil "addiction" we currently face. Interviews with automakers,
legislators, engineers, consumers, celebrities and car enthusiasts
piece the complex puzzle together, and works to reveal where the
blame, for the disappearance of this green alternative, falls.
Read the reviews, go let this film educate you about the situation,
then please raise hell any way you can. Date:
Now through Thursday 8/31, Time: show times 2pm,
4:45, 7:15, 9:40, Place: Landmarks
Opera Plaza Theater, 601 Van Ness Ave, Cover:

Zero
7 and José González
Since
their early remix of Radiohead’s “Climbing The Walls,” Zero
7 has stood out as an immensely talented duo. Their signature
mellow, loungey trip-hop has only improved over the course of
their career, with “In the Waiting Line” being featured on the
Garden
State
film soundtrack. Now, defying critics who claimed this group had
nothing further to offer, Zero 7 has released a highly-acclaimed
new album featuring longtime vocalist Sia
Furler, as well as singer/songwriter José
González. Come hear how their sound has evolved – or, if this
is your first time seeing Zero 7 perform, come ready to be impressed.

"Bot" is short for
"Robot", I believe, which is pretty cool, because who honestly doesn't
like a robot these days? Anyway, Bot is a weekly jam at the Bar
of Contemporary Art (BOCA) and its music has always provided
the art on the wall with a bitchin’ audio component. Green
Forest and Satamile
bring the breaks and electro out and beat the hell out of your senses…in
a good artsy way. (RW) |

she's known for her acute crowd sensitivity, so whether you call
