Pride Parade 2006
The 36th Annual San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration is an event like no other. It goes beyond the excitement of a continuous street party to a statement that there are more than a half million people gathering to celebrate the pride of San Francisco’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities. Leading the parade this year as Grand Marshalls are Jennifer Beals and model Honey Labrador. At the celebration site, there will be several stages featuring DJs spinning everything from hip-hop, house, country, rock, and soul, as well as spoken word and dance performances. Regardless of what side of the fence you're on, you'll love this celebration. Date: Sat 6/25, Time: 10:30am - 7pm, Place: Market St between Beal & Civic Center, Cover: donations accepted, More Info. SF Dyke March
For those of us who don't own a single pair of pink lamé hot pants or a feather boa or even any body glitter. For those of us who are just happy to be women who love women, there is only one place to be this Saturday -- the Dyke March. If you own a bike, rev it up, put on your best leather fringe, and lead the parade; if you don't, then just bring all your friends for a fun, slightly outspoken trek across the city, followed by tons of great afterparties. And if you secretly do own body glitter but don't want to tell anyone, don't worry, just save it for Sunday. Date: Saturday 6/24, Time: 7:00pm, Place: Dolores Park, 18th & Dolores, Cover: no cover, More Info. (JH)

Striptease Live Auction
It's a sexy twist on your average trunk show, as models will be displaying the latest indie fashions from SF's best designers, and you can buy them right off their backs. The designs will be auctioned off live on stage, while jewelry and more will be available as part of the trunk show. Designers include 100 minute company, Aaron Terry, Airyka Rockefeller, Amy Ho, Annie Shao, ANOTHER, Bronwen Bloem, Caramimi, Cast of Characters, Cyzuki Industries, Fruffer, GreenGirl, Ilaniowear, Kelly Horrigan, Lushorchid, Martha Rodriguez, Michael Abbey, miss velvet cream and many many more. Spice up your shopping experience and support the local art and fashion communities while you are at it! Dreaming in a Firestorm
Everyday Theatre follows up their smash hit The Bright River with another groundbreaking production. Dreaming in a Firestorm is the fairy-tale story of a musician walking home from a gig through a San Francisco that is part dream and part disaster. Drawn from interviews with Bay Area performers, paramedics, teachers, and firefighters, Dreaming weaves together interconnected oral histories centering on the experience of hoping against hope inside a world on fire, and seeking a happy ending against all odds. The show combines beatbox, a live hip-hop soundtrack, physical theatre, and traditional Jewish folklore. Date: Sat. 6/24 - Sat. 7/29, Time: 8pm, Place: Oakland Metro & 2232 MLK, Oakland, Cover: $14-$20, More Info. (SG)

Playa Play
Tamo, ViaJay, and DeFalco have been revving up their B-Man engines, and are offering the City a fabulous opportunity to flirt with fun, funky, and often fuzzy fashion in a bass-friendly environment this Sunday. When you set your eyes on their samples, you'll be ready to frolick off to Burning Man right away, as these local designers and fashion mavens know exactly what kind of playclothes you need. Designers Silver Lucy, Domini, and Green Girl are only a few of those exhibiting their wares, and you'll find out who else is there as you make the rounds while shakin' it to bass-heavy breaks and thumpin' house tunes. DJs Melyss, Syd Gris, and Aaron Pope, are among those gracing the decks. Date: Sun 6/25, Time: 2pm-7pm, Place: Mighty (119 Utah), Cover: $5 suggested donation, More Info. (DKD)
