In this incredible new series from the Asian
Art Museum, a $5 ticket garners you an up-close
live performance by local urban artists, a reception
where you can actually meet the artists, and
(as if that wasn't enough) free rein to explore
the entire museum. The first show features the
Dhamaal
Collective. Janaka Selekta will spin, accompanied
by Ferhan Qureshi on tabla and the classical
Indian stylings of Sukhawat Ali Khan. Also check
out Amrita Chatterjee's storytelling, and Dhamaal's
own Elephants on Parade installation. And be

will be back – with different artists – the

Local artists and DJs join forces yet again
at Club Six, for Champion Sound Session. The
event features local photographers Kareem
Jahron and Bayete
Ross-Smith, each displaying their photographic
prowess. Jahron has photographed Damian Marley and
the rest of the Marley clan while Ross-Smith
is a photojournalist who moonlights as a mentor
for underprivileged youth in both New York and
the Bay. Displaying the hottest new threads is
Dee
Jae Pa'este from Konscious
Klothing, while Marlean Imgram showcases
