In this incredible new series from the Asian Art Museum, a $5 ticket garners you an up-close live performance by local urban artists, a reception where you can actually meet the artists, and (as if that wasn't enough) free rein to explore the entire museum. The first show features the Dhamaal Collective. Janaka Selekta will spin, accompanied by Ferhan Qureshi on tabla and the classical Indian stylings of Sukhawat Ali Khan. Also check out Amrita Chatterjee's storytelling, and Dhamaal's own Elephants on Parade installation. And be sure to pick up a schedule, because this event will be back – with different artists – the first Thursday of every month for the next six months! Champion Sound Session
Local artists and DJs join forces yet again at Club Six, for Champion Sound Session. The event features local photographers Kareem Jahron and Bayete Ross-Smith, each displaying their photographic prowess. Jahron has photographed Damian Marley and the rest of the Marley clan while Ross-Smith is a photojournalist who moonlights as a mentor for underprivileged youth in both New York and the Bay. Displaying the hottest new threads is Dee Jae Pa'este from Konscious Klothing, while Marlean Imgram showcases some artwork too. Your DJs for the evening include True Skoolers RasCue and Sake-1, as well as many of their friends adding the hottest hip-hop, reggae, and soul to perfectly compliment the showcase. Rain Dance Camp Out

With a wicked DJ lineup, live band performances by Heavyweight Dub Champion among others, and performance art including the Shamanic Cheerleaders and Poetic Synergetics, this is the weekend getaway you've been aching for. Felix da Housecat's determination and willingness to re-invent himself have led to a Grammy nomination, remix work for Madonna, Garbage, New Order and Giorgio Moroder, and DJ gigs at the world's most prestigious music festivals. Felix has become one of the most sought after remixers and producers, reinterpreting songs by everyone from the Pet Shop Boys to Kylie Minogue.
