This Sunday is a beautiful day to do a little shopping – and just in time for your new summer wardrobe, here comes Capsule! This annual street fair features 120 of the best local designers and graphic artists, bringing original new designs just for you. Octavia and Linden will be packed with exhibit booths, free food samples, and sidewalk sales at local boutiques! AIDS Benefit and Fashion Show!
This friday, come out to Supperclub for a very special event. SF DJs Andrew Casden (Quid Pro) and Richard Gregory (Metrognome) team up with LA-based non-profit NextAid to bring you Intelligent Design, featuring some of the best local house and electro DJs in San Francisco. The night's bill includes the Landshark (aka Lance DeSardi), DJ Garth, Sen-Sei, Andrew Phelan, Dov, Monty Luke, DJ Amber, Fil Latorre, as well as sets from Metrognome and the Quid Pro. There will also be a coutoure swimwear fashion show featuring the work of Desneiges Gregory and others, a photography installation, and live video projections by Stephen Williams. There will also be a raffle with great giveaways, including mix CDs from the night's DJs, new music from Om Records, computer music software, jewelry, and much more. All proceeds for the nights events go to Nextaid, which works to build sustainable resources for children in Africa. When you party for a great purpose, everybody wins. Red Bull Music Academy is a unique environment where musical innovators shed light on the history, motivations and technology behind the tunes that you love. Each year a diverse group of participants are mixed together to jam experiences over two fortnight-long sessions, this year in the wonderful land of Melbourne, Australia. Kenyan expatriate Sila is a man on a mission: to have a seriously funky good time.
